Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone knows why lightbulbing CS was nerfed so hard (i.e., math now prerequisite thus affecting GM lightbulbing, masonry changed on GP preference list)?

It's very difficult now to lightbulb CS with either GP or GM, yet (at least the GM, haven't tried GP) they don't even research the full tech!!!

:(

Sullla infers that it's 'broken' in the article; The Civil Service Slingshot ... so at least one of the game's playtesters seems to think that the slingshot provides an excessive advantage and were "not anticipated by the developers".

I think they thought it was broken because of the way one could then use a Great Prophet to progress along a non-religious path (I cant remember if it was a thread here or on another site where one of the actual developers discussed this..).

They came to the conclusion that Masonry is indeed "more of a religious tech" since it opens up Monotheism etc.

Of course, early bureaucracy is ridiculously powerful (some slingshots pre-patch could be done 1000-1500 BC) but then again so is early education using GS...
