Actually mrwhite, by the look of your play, you may be just as much a newb at SGs as the rest of us, but you appear to be far beyond at least my level of skill at this game! Keep up the good work!

By the way, I'm not sure if the two-day rule applies to weekends, but I probably won't be able to report until Monday, weekends are busy for me.

But consider this a got it.

Oh, and yes, to clarify, we convert to Christianity in 0 AD.

I see I missed you guys talking about open borders/spreading Judaism. Open borders is not against the variant rules. We just can't intentionally spread Judaism with missionaries. Its fine if it spreads on its own. Of course this doesn't matter much as we convert to Christianity in about 10 turns.

Maybe to prepare for the conversion to Christianity, we could build a Christian Monastary in Hebron and then stock up on some missionaries so we can send them out to spread the word as soon as we hit 1 AD.

Yeah I like that, Hatty seems like an appropriate "target" considering her closeness.

Okay, I've started. I'll be playing fourteen turns to get things back to even numbers.

I'm actually concentrating on military and workers (we only had two of those!) at first. Then I'll get to missionaries.

You misunderstood me. I meant auto-assignments for workers. Not tasks that take o lot of turns. My English skills were lacking...

oh berrie i see! the automated workers, when the computer makes the decision for you what improvements they will make. right, those you definitely don't use in SGs :) and my english skills are worse than i'd like, which is truly sad considering that it's my native language !

475 BC. I open up the save and notice that we have only two workers! By the end of the turnset I believe we have five. Also our military needs significant work. I played 14 turns to get it back to a number divisible by 10.

450 BC- Parthenon completed! Jerusalem starts worker.

350 BC- Worker finished in Jerusalem, he is sent to hook up Iron.

325 BC- Mathematics comes in, begin CoL.

275 BC - Jerusalem finishes another worker, he heads up to connect horses. Jerusalem begins archer.

225 BC - Jerusalem is now size 10 and running a priest specialist! With the parthenon that brings it to 25 Great person points per turn!

125 BC Great Prophet Ananda is born in Jerusalem. He is sent towards Hebron to build Christian shrine.

The culture gained in Hebron from switching to Christianity will be necessary to take the fish from Hatshepsut. She has some big city up there pumping out culture.

Dawn, don't forget to switch to Christianity 0 AD! :yup:

This is my "I got it". Might not be able to play until Monday night however.

Do we have a tech strategy at this point?
Should we begin some miltary (with Construction) to "bring" Peter toward the light?

I do think we need to wipe peter pretty soon, probly swords w/ some cats, but once he gets longbows it's going to be much tougher until we get maces, so we need to hurry somewhat. Try to get the other AIs to stop trading with him and/or when you declare war try to bribe a friend. Saying this I realize we won't be going to war during your turn, but I think we need to start moving in that direction. We need some barracks, and when we start building units don't forget to make a theocracy switch. That's all that comes to mind for now, when the save is posted I'll take a look at it and post my thoughts, I've got some free time tonight so I'll let you know what I think.

We have elephants, those would be better than swords.

Oh, and here's the save. The Save

I think we need to switch our tech over to construction, as the whole point of researching mathematics before COL was to then research Construction to start building cats to use against Peter.

I'm thinking maybe 6-7 cats, 5-6 swordsmen and a couple war elephants will do the trick. We should probably be building only units and missionaries the next 10-20 turns. What do you all think?

That basically sums up what I'm thinking right now... Whatever we do it needs to be done quickly before peter hits feudalism and all his archers go *poof*, although this is Noble so they don't get as massive of discounts on unit upgrades, so maybe we have more time than I think...

I think we are now set up perfectly for our variant goals. Time to show the rest of the world the error of their beliefs :hammer:

Can't open the save while at work today, so I'll play/post tonight.

    Goals:
    1. Head towards Construction for catsa and phants.
    2. Build some barracks
    3. Build an offensive force (swords, cats, phants). :ar15:
    4. Build Christian missionaries for spreading into Hatty and Freddie. :jesus:
