1880 AD (0) - Here's my plan for the future:
1) Let Awdaghost finish its laboratory, then build the space elevator.
2) Set research towards fusion. Use the great engineer from that tech to rush the three gorges dam (this won't quite be within my turns).
3) Look into switching to free religion once the apollo program is done. AFAIK, spaceship parts don't get any bonus from organized religion.
4) Turn off culture spending. What was that all about?
5) Cruise to victory.
1882 AD (1) - I found this rather amusing:
We're certainly running out of things to build in our oldest cities.
1884 AD (2) - I discover that apparently, a lab is not what was preventing Awdaghost from building the space elevator. After reviewing each of our cities (unless I'm missing something, the domestic doesn't seem to be very good for production), I start the elevator in Delhi (due in 18).
Awdaghost's lab pushed its unhealthiness over the limit of what it can support, but the workers I moved into place to deal with this are unable to irrigate the tundra. We have biology, so what's going on here?
1886 AD (3) - Nothing much
1888 AD (4) - Tokugawa starts a golden age. It's a little late for using one of those to catch up to us, isn't it?
1890 AD (5) - There aren't any more spots left that will give us benefit from railing, so I'm just going to connect our northern towns.
1892 AD (6) - Nothing much
1894 AD (7) - Mao gets a great prophet, and builds the Church of the Nativity. I don't think I've ever seen a shrine built this late. We also get a great artist in Niani. Pretty much all he can do of any worth at this point is give us half the cost of Mass Media (1 turn of research). I'll leave him for the next player.
1896 AD (8) - Nothing much
1898 AD (9) - I also rather like this quote:
Now that my detour is over, I set research back to satellites. Norbert Rillieux is born in Timbuktu. The Three Gorges Dam is now due in 8 turns.
1900 AD (10) - I switch towns building research to spaceship parts all around.
Afterthoughts: A couple towns are suffering from starvation due to lack of health. I'd research genetics next, but at this point it really doesn't matter. That, then ecology will be the game. Unless StarrySurprise isn't heard from, I don't expect to see the game again. Let's go out with a bang!
