Realpolitik of the Smoky Skies - The Reboot

Well, not seeing much evidence of activity here, and so I think this may well be deceased. If so, a round of applause to everyone who made it as enjoyable a game as it was! I think, with a few exceptions, we all had a grand time, and I've learned enough stuff from this to make the next IAAR I do even better.

…

Oh.

I had thought that everyone had finished campaigning or this season, and that we were just waiting for polling results or some other official response.

Honestly, I haven't had enough time to keep on top of this thing properly, but I was reading it that a lack of interest had kind of killed it; we had 5 people post in the thread but only 4 valid candidates, all of whom would be elected without opposition. I suppose if people want this to continue we can assume that the new Legislature is to be assembled from Gurra, Melda, Wyverncraft, and Heerlo, and I can try to patch together three NPC senators...

Well, I know I would like that...
Didn't Absoluti also decide to run?
I suppose if everyone else is done, that would be fine, but I would hate to have this die without group consensus...

I have another four months of activity left in me before I have to go offline for baby preparations. :)

So I'm happy to continue. It's going to be a very PPP-dominated chamber, though (not necessarily a bad things in my view! :D).

Given that unless Henry decided to back the PPP no party would be able to secure a majority in their own right, I would be most interested to see how we would go with giving a minority government a go (which can be defeated by a majority voting against them in a confidence motion).

*Cough, cough, cough* I was checking the thread, but I just didn't see the need to campaign, and I didn't have much else to comment on.

Sorry Magnive :p.

Well, that's 5 people; I think we can roll with a Legislature.

And so I repeat my earlier statement:

I suppose if people want this to continue we can assume that the new Legislature is to be assembled from Gurra, Melda, Wyverncraft, and Heerlo, and I can try to patch together three NPC senators...

By default, due to the fact that there is no contest in any of the races, the Legislature is Gurra, Melda, Magnive, Wyverncraft, and Heerlo, plus two NPCs I'll set up.

OOC: I just want to say sorry for the lack of response from my side, haven't been busy myself but when it seemed like Melda was the only one out on the campaign trail I decided to put my effort into other things than writing more speeches for an election I was guaranteed to win.

That said, if this next legislature is sworn in (given you other fellow Senators show up) I will stick around. :)

Checking in one last time to see if there is still any interest in continuing this scenario. If there is, the PPP has a cabinet ready to go in case the Senate were to elect Aurora Gurra for Prime Minister.

I would join but can someone tell me if there is anyone in the opposition? For if it is like before, two persons (me and Et_Absoluti) vs everyone else, then I would rather not join. I believe that the lack of activity is due to the fact that the majority of players are socialists and there is a lack of opposition (which can never hope to form a government as it has only two players), so there is no conflict or anything. It is pretty much an one party state, and this is boring for IAAR. I personally got bored when I realized that there was no way to get to power if you were not a socialist. Just saying so you could find a way to make better the game.

I'm still interested, its just that I rarely get home until past sunset these days xD

If you can assemble a cabinet, I'm happy to continue GMing the game.

I don't think there are any players in the opposition; the government will be a PPP-PAU coalition. The NPCs are probably going to be opposition party members, however.

Question: Can we form a government with NPCs, since there are not enough players, if we win the elections in the future?

The Pulias People's Party has assembled a possible minority cabinet with only our three Senators since there are so few player Senators, which would effectively make the PAU opposition since they are the only other party in the chamber.

If sworn in by the Senate the Third Gurra Ministry would be as follows:

Senator Gurra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Foreign Relations
Senator Melda, Minister of Science, Economy and Construction
Senator Richterson, Minister of Defence, Intelligence and Infrastructure

May I also propose that if any players in Coventry or Pulias City (Absoluti or Christos) wish to be active again they can replace the NPC that will otherwise represent their city? Just to fill the Senate with players where possible, since there hasn't been an actual election - we in the PPP and PAU were just automatically appointed since there were fewer candidates than seats.
