What spec computer would YOU recommend to run this game?

I KNOW it has a suggestion on the box, but i want to know what you guys think.

see the box of the game but is suggest out of experience that you schould have an processor of 2000mhz or more(i played with an AMD sempron 3100+ = 1800 mhz)
memory 2 GB interneal memory
128 mb videocard(it doenst't need an real top of the bill videocard)

Core2Quad Q6600 - 8800GT and 4GB of ram did the trick for me ;)

I only got 2 gb ram, T5250 dual2core (1,5 ghz) and 8600 gs on my laptop, but I am doing just fine on a large map.

Yeah, when I read the OP I figured this was going to be a bragging rights thread... Sadly, I haven't updated my desktop for a while, so I don't think I'll post those specs (though, for a 5 or 6 year old machine, it's still a contender!)

Anyway, to all of you lucky super-computer owners - my congrats! (and envy, of course!)

From my experience in playing Civ BtS on 3 different Boxes, the most important quality is sufficient Ram - having 2 Gig instead of 1 really makes a difference in later game when the number of Units goes up a lot.

Apart from that, my old Pentium IV 3.0 Ghz box with a GForce 6800 still does fine, on the same 1280x1024 resolution as the other ones.

Although my new box with a 2.4Ghz Quad-core, 3 Gig RAM and GForce 8500 definitely runs much smoother.

My laptop with a T7200 dual-core Pentium and GForce 7400 Go and 2 Gig Ram is smack in the middle.

Hope this helps,

Nan

While we're on the subject, anyone ever deal with Alienware? Thinking of a new supercharged computer and Cray is a bit out of my price range... :crazyeye:
