I have read, recently, a book about War.
As players of the Civilzation game, I think that you would enjoy the story of war from the beginning of time. It is the complete history of war.

This is an excellent book for anyone who has an interest in war and its role in the advancement of civilization. In many ways, it explains how the "chicken before the egg" syndrome is present in the intercourse of Warfare, as society drives itself to warfare, and warfare demands advances in society.
If you like Civilization the game, you would probably enjoy this book.
