I'm adding region/civ specific soundtracks to the mod.
Probably I don't have to talk about the benefits of this to anyone here
There are a couple ways to do this, I think I would prefer to have it based on primarily the civ itself (as against of it being map/position/province or religion based for example).
So we would have groups of civs with the same track, or even a single civ can have a separate list in justified cases.
I'm keeping this era-based too:
So all civs in a given group share 4 separate soundtracks, 1 for each of the eras in the mod.
A song can be added for as many different groups as we would like (the sound file itself is only added to the mod once).
Actually I would like to have quite a few songs that are added for almost all civs. Probably a couple from the current soundtrack, many songs there kinda grew on me over the past few years
(With a potential middle-eastern group being an exception, they will most likely have entirely separate music.)
First of all, I think we should get the groups together:
- I do not want to have too many of these, so keep the groups as large as possible.
- The 6 civs coming to the mod (Serbia, Sicily, Rum, Crimea, Egypt, Tunisia) should already be included.
- A civ can have any existing soundtrack for a given era (so theoretically they can be moved around between groups within eras), but we should try to have constant groups for the sake of convenience.
