Regional restrictions

Plus for hints look on the steam forum. There are plenty of guides there so it is a waste of effort anyway! :D

I understand there can't be a guide on the forums on how to do it. But do we have word if it is considered baneable or they don't mind?

Wow, the how-to-play from non-US thread is simply removed? I feel pretty bad about this to be honest, as I hadn't expected this fansite to do so.

So much for the "let me play it already!" social policy :P

Really? I was quite expecting it. Actually I cant wait to play, I don't think about anything else, and yesterday I didn't even try teh method bc I thought they made ban those accounts.
But after reading here that players say it's not ilegal or anything, I may do it today. A confirmation would be cool though

Fan sites depend quite heavily on not getting into legal trouble with Firaxis.

QFT. People who want to circumvent regional protection will search for info on other websites.

Call me naive, but I was expecting this thread would answer questions around regional restrictions between US, UK, EU and Australia, not about the impatient bunch who have such lacking impulse control they cannot wait until Friday for the international release.

It would be nice if this thread were to include the lame-ass excuse -- whatever it is -- for having different release dates. As one of the second-class customers still waiting for his game to be unlocked while watching the North Americans have a ball, I'm not amused one bit at what seems to be a senseless exercise in artificially limiting the Internet. This is worse than region codes with DVDs.
