attached u find one of my auto-save-files.
The game seems to crash more and more often as the game grows late.
before modern times I have had only one or two crashes... now I a crashing every 2-4 turns... can someone check if this happens on other machines as well?

my system specs are:

OS: WinXP SP2
Processor: Intel 2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz
RAM: 3.5 GB
Video: GeForce GTX 260 896 MB
CivV Version: 1.0.0.621

I loaded your save file and played it through turn 758 with no crashes. That's good, because it means your save files aren't being corrupted. My system has higher specs than your, however. Lots of players report similar problems and I don't know if anyone has come up with a solid fix. Just off the top of my head, try any or all of the following:

1. Update your video drivers. Nvidia issued some new drivers very recently, so don't assume that yours are the most recent unless you updated within the last two weeks.
2. Go Menu --> Options --> Video Options and lower the settings, if possible. Turn off Fullscreen mode if enabled.
3. Go Menu --> Options --> Interface Options and turn off Auto Unit Cycle if it's on.
4. Play on smaller maps with fewer Civs and CSs (not a good choice, I know, but see if it helps).

Perhaps some others will offer more choices.

HTH

Video drivers r up-to-date (NVidia 260.99)
Full screen is allready turned off (since when playing full screen the game starts to crash during diplomacy... when there r many civs)
I have allready lowered my settings and this didn't change anything...
I haven't turned off autocycle yet, but since it crashes during the other players turn I don't think that's the cause...
I am allready playing on smaller maps... I am playing on standard - am I to play on small maps?! I used to play on huge+ maps...

SP2 could be a problem? Well... I loath the Microsoft Updates, since it tends to bring all kind of other problems with them... but if this might solve my issues I might give it a shot...

thnx for the suggestions

SP2 isn't the problem (although you should upgrade to it anyway). I have tried everything above and other suggestions in other threads and nothing works!
