Reinstalled Civ 4 and now I lost playability

I had to reinstall Civ 4(long story) and now it is slower and the game sound effects are truncated or completely missing. How do I fix this and why did it happen. I have the Rev C patch. The "Your computer is below minimun specs" warning is gone too. Thanks in advance for any help regarding this issue.

Fixed the problem. I apparently had Civ 4 installed in two different locations. Deleted one location and all is well. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth.
