Reinstalling Game - any recommendations?

My problem is that I have made quite a few changes to the .ini file for CivIV and I would like to revert to all defaults. I am considering reinstalling CivIV from scratch because I foolishly backed up the file over my original backup . Do I need to reinstall to revert back to original settings? Or can someone post the original Civilization4.ini settings for me to check mine with?

If I do need to install can anyone give any recommendations? Should a start with the uninstall program and then do a defragmentation of the HDD? Can I save my HOF files in another directory temporarily? I am fairly computer literate, but I have heard that uninstalling and reinstalling software can be bad for your system.

Your talking about the config file right? If yea are try deleting it and run the game i think it will make a new one and set it to the defaults.
