[Religion and Revolution]: Interesting Graphics / Features we might use

What do you think about eventually having one unique building (UB) for each of the Colonial factions? (i.e., replaces one of the existing generic buildings for that civ, maybe with a very mild special bonus compared to the generic building). We seem to have plenty of unused building nifs for that; and If each civ gets one UB it could help them feel more distinctive, adding some more gameplay difference than just leader traits. Maybe something to think about for later though, we have enough to finish for release 1!

Nice idea. Maybe we could have this in mind for Release 2? I will be very busy in the next months and will have no time to make a research of suitable buildings.

Because of all the new yields and buildings planned, I looked through the large mod Realism Invictus and gathered building nifs we might use; I uploaded a set of these in the folder transfer/Buildings/New_RI. Several of those we may already have which I couldn't remember, but there definitely are several good new ones in there.

Because Schmiddie is busy at the moment, I've also looked through the Fall Further mod on my PC to find anything that could be useful; uploaded another buildings nif set to transfer/Buildings/New_FF. I think these buildings below could be especially good. So take a quick look through the folders with nifskope and see what u like :)

New_RI/Diocese (really looks like authentic Spanish colonial churches. maybe a Spanish religion UB?)
New_RI/Furniture factory
New_RI/Tanner
New_RI/Intensive_farming (looks like a colonial workshop from the Caribbean)
New_RI/Manufactory
New_RI/Clinic
New_RI/Brick
New_RI/Glassworks
New_RI/Smokehouse2
New_RI/Brewery (maybe a Tavern)
New_FF/Tailor
New_FF/Grigori tavern

Hi Folks,

As long as I play the game, I don't realy like the graphics for armory, magazine, arsenal, and great arsenal. To my opinion they look like a tower or a castle, but not like what they stand for.

Therefore I would like to replace these graphics.

I already build a new version of the great arsenal:

If the team likes it, I will build the graphics for Armory, Magazine and Arsenal in this style.

Is it possible to show a graphic, when a missionary founds a mission in a native city?

Sorry, but this is totally oversized and historically absolutely incorrect. :nono:

When the first missionaries founded a mission in a Native Village in most cases this was little more, than a "name".

He usually simply got a small house or tent from the natives.
In some cases, the white might have built something for the missionaries, but that would have been much smaller.

The graphics you are showing would fit to a monastery but that is something totally different.

The graphics could also fit to a mission stations like the Spanish did found later on in California for example
but these were not missions directly in Native Villages and also something totally different.

So definite veto from my side to this idea, sorry. :(

The graphics themselves are really nice however.
(Maybe we can use them otherwise.)

It looks very much like the Spanish mission and church complexes in California; though I agree it is a bit large. I was thinking that could be great for a Spanish unique national building such as a Church replacement.

But, it would be really nice to have a Mission be visible in game, eg see this post which looks very much like one of the smaller Missions for natives on the colonial frontiers. By adding an unused BUILDING_MISSION when a mission is founded and giving this the small mission graphic, you'd be able to see a small mission present in the settlement :king:

Sorry, I am totally against showing a building, when a simple mission is created in a village.
Absolute veto.

But maybe we could use the graphics otherwise.
I just don't know yet what for ... :dunno:

I know i'm not part of your project but i just have to poke my nose here.

While in some areas jesuit missions were nonexistent, in other areas their "missions" became large settlements themselves. Here's some reading:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonial_Brazil#Jesuit_missions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesuit_Reductions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A3o_Paulo_dos_Campos_de_Piratininga

Also i found this at the CIV download section, if that would be more "appropriate". I personally think that the CIV models are more like central churches IN a mission rather the missions themselves. I personally like your mission Schmiddie, care to upload it somewhere ?

I think that BLUMod has the best looking ships by far. Are you using those?

I already have these graphics, but the ones we are currently using look much better. :)
(BluMod is 3 years old and a lot has happened since then.)

In terms of land units, my favorite graphics are the ones in melcher kurzers pack of 40.

We are based on TAC and thus already include melcher's graphics. :)
