Even if we took out minor candidates, do you really think that would have any effect on the election?

I say Hillary, followed by Guiliani and a random person chosen by the Wheel of Misfortune.

Yeah, Orrin Hatch hasn't been held to the standard, either.

It's a shame, I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that Gov. Romney is perceived as a threat to win, so rather than criticizing his viewpoints and record, people have gone after his religion in demographics that will eat it up. Strangely enough, I don't know who the anti-Mormon crowd would support as a candidate... although Giuliani's team (the campaign team, not Steinbrenner and Co. ;)) has been linked to some of the religion-baiting.

Well, if the scenario is picking names out of a giant bingo-ball machine, minor candidates have an equal chance to major ones and must be removed...

Figures the Jews would be behind it all. :p

[Personal observation] I've never really seen any widespread discontent towards Mormons from fellow Christians, and I attended a Protestant Christian high school. We accepted Mormons as fellow Christians, just like any other denomination. It was never a big deal. Meh. [/Observation]

I think Rudy is just slightly more evil than Hillary. If I had two she'd be out next

And he would. And that says volumes.

    It's a tough question.

    Look at it this way:

I'd be cool with an Edwards, Obama, or Kucinich presidency.

I'd be ok with Richardson, Biden, or Hillary but not enthusiastic.

Huckabee and McCain would make terrible presidents but they don't seem to believe in the Bush Executive.

Giuiani would be awful for the country, but at least he'd know what he'd be doing.

Romney and Thompson are both evil bags of crap. Romney is the most transparent liar I've ever seen in a Presidential race. Every time he finishes a sentence, I bet half of America gags. Thompson is just like Reagan - full of trite political catchphrases and evil plans to destroy the social safety nets and declare war on Iran.

It would be a coinflip. Goin with Romney since Thompson already has a posse.

I'm amazed people are concentrating on Hillary and Giuliani. They aren't NEARLY the crappiest candidates in the race. They're just the crappiest candidates when you multiply by their chance to win.

Remember this is a lottery. Would you really rather have a Thompson presidency than a Giuliani presidency?

but if that is the hypothetical there are extremely small time candidates not listed that are far worse than any on the list. Who's the prohibition candidate this year? I'd like to change my vote to him.

And don't go saying that these folks have no chance to win and are thus excluded in a poll with McCain, Edwards, Biden, Kucinich, etc on the list

To stop this from becoming a "who can think of the most insane person to get on a state ballot?" thread, the OP limited it to those choices.

Which is fair; otherwise, Ron Paul would win.

Giuliani, since he is the next US president if nothing big suddenly happens that could change the directions.

Which is why I limited my own selection to the candidates that stand a chance in hell of winning. Prohibition guy has the exact same zero chance as McCain and Kucinich.
