Renaming Units during Gameplay

Now i might just be going insane but I could swear that i used to be able to rename units whenever i wanted to in the iddle of a battle. Because i remember i used to chand Units to like 1st Marines 1st Btln. or something.

Now this could have been in a scenerio so i could have been a patch or omd that i didn't even know i was playing with.

So if i havn't just completely lost it please tell me where i can get it.

If you're playing C3C, you remember correctly. Pull up your preferences and look for Advanced Unit Moves (or something like that). Display those and you'll see a button that says "ABC." Click that and you can rename units.

The hot key for renaming a unit is Shift-n
Anytime a unit is active. press shift-n, type in the new name, press enter and voila.
