Renewing trade deals

Are the AI civs EVER interested in renewing deals?

They say no, but seconds later, they agree to a worse deal???

I had a deal selling Incense for 23 Gold per turn to the French. They didn't want to renew the deal, but they agreed to the new deal, which was incense for 51 gold per turn....

Its an AI glitch I believe; a lot of it has to do with how much they're making and how much they like you, I believe.

I've had situations where they've offered me something, I've lowered their end of the deal and they refused to accept (when trying to help backwards Civs).

My big issues is that it doesn't prompt YOU if you want to cancel deals (as far as I know).
Its a pain to try and remember when 20 rounds have passed on something.

Gradius, about the length of time you've had a deal for, all you have to do is call up the civ from the diplomacy screen Shift-D & click on "propose trade deal" then look at the bottom of the screen & you'll see where it says NEW & ACTIVE.
