Is that what "I was there" implied? My bad.
Department of Defense.
I deployed for two years in Iraq and Afghanistan, but not as active duty military.
Wow. Worst of most worlds. Had no idea that civil service office workers got 'deployed'.
I'm not civil service. I work for the Exchange, ie PX and BX. They go where the military goes.
This is me at Taji, about 10 years ago. I still have the sunglasses. BCGs work much better as shades.
Rockhound from Armageddon?
Paper shuffler or not you have style.
Heh! Now I would have gone straight to Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove, but Buscemi did do a nice cover. But my question is doesn't that thing look like that poop storage device from Joe Dirt???
Yes, Major T.J. "King" Kong. Armageddon was out, but did not come to mind.
That pic is about 200 meters from the "wire". In this case it was a solid wall abutting a 6 lane highway. Not far from there was a mosque which the US Army cleaned up and rededicated. I have before and after pics.
Didn't they basically outlaw earmarks? I thought that was a good idea at the time, but I'm starting to reconsider that.
They used to be able to get "compromises" done by essentially bribing the other side to agree with a $100k library in their district, or a $50k statue, or something. Am I imagining that? Did that happen? No more earmarks? Seemed like a good idea at the time, but may have been a bad idea in hindsight.
There were people at the time who said 'but that's what makes it work'. Of course they were ignored.
LBJ used to meet weekly with minority leaders from both houses of Congress. If the usual suspects are to be believed, President Obama met with Mitch McConnell less than once a year. You cannot have bipartisan anything if you refuse to hear the other side out.
Mitch McConnell was a leader in name only and Carnival Cruz was too busy reading Dr. Seuss way past his bedtime.
Your one liners need work. You bombed one in the St Louis thread too.
Separate names with a comma.
