Hello!
I am currently fighting a land war in asia... well, or something like that. The continent I'm fighting on is a big megacontinent. I'm doing well, but I'm at a cross roads and I want some opinions and/or tips please.
I'm playing Boudica and WOW, I have never enjoyed going to war so much! I mean, with Aggressive and Charismatic, It's like the world is your battle playground! I've won every conflict I've been in so far, even though I've always had fewer numbers.
So, I'm at the far end of this continent. I've defeated my nearest adversary, Isabella of Spain, and vassalized her. I had a war with Hammurabi, and was doing well when Caesar declared war. Hammurabi was pretty frightened and made peace quickly, and I went and took a nearby Roman city.
Now, I think I did the right thing by making peace with Rome because we had pretty positive relations, and he agreed to pay tribute. I restarted my war with Babylon and, again, took some cities. But they were so close to Isabella, that I just gifted them to her to get the positive bonus, rather than just see them flip over to her through rebellions.
So, the situation is, Me and Isabella are looking pretty good. but I have no access to horse, and I haven't built much of a navy, so i have no "speedy" methods of delivering punches.
Now, the question is, do I declare war on Rome, with whom I actually share a border? I have the technology to win, I think, but it would be a pretty rough battle, and it would be slow. I'd have to make sure the cities close to Isabella don't flip to her, or she will become free again. The supply lines would be enormous, and I foresee a lot of war discontent and stifling economy.
Alternatively, I could build a fleet, attack Rome (the city and capital) or any of the other powers (they're all about equal in size and strength).
As a final alternative, I could wait for another 100 turns to get up to more modern units, say, tanks that would allow me to do more of a fast pace assault on these relatively large territories. I've thought that I could take my units (which are *highly* promoted) and when I get the appropriate technology, switch all my cities to wealth for a turn or two and 100% money to pay for massive upgrades to these highly-promoted units.
