Research Agreements not producing science

Hi all,

RAs have completed twice in my game without apparent effect. Wondering if I'm missing something? I have PT and Scientific Revolution and my RA is with the tech leader, so there's no way it was too insubstantial to produce results.

Would be trememdously grateful to anyone taking a look at this for me. Cheers.

Bump: I can confirm that the bug is repeatable, as can be seen if the older savegame is loaded and played through.

Polynesia backstabbed you. This canceled your DoF and hence canceled the RA.

If you take a look at Global Politics in your turn 190 autosave, you will see that your RA partner (Polynesia) backstabbed you, which means they denounced you sometime after you entered into the RA. It has been pretty well attested in the forums that a backstab will cause an RA to "fizzle" (yield no beakers), while the mere expiration of a DOF after its Standard speed 50-turn duration (don't know how long they last on Quick speed) will not.

It's not a documented "feature" of RAs (and, apart from the denunciation itself, there is no warning that the RA is busted -- at least with a DOW the RA trade is explicitly canceled and no longer shows up as a pending deal in Deal History), but it's been around for quite a while, so if it's a bug Firaxis hasn't indicated an urgency about fixing it.
