Researching all of the technology....

I just finished my first complete PTW game on the Chieftain setting. Throughout the entire game, I had technology research set at 80%. Despite this, I still ran out of time, and the game ended at 2050 without me being able to have nukes or even the option to have a diplomatic or space race victory.

What can I differently to be able to complete the tech tree, with some time to spare, in my next game? Thanks.

Well, you just have to build more cities I think. You need more cash to invest in technology research. On higher levels, you can go for a lower research and buy your technology from the AI.

What level were you playing at?

It helps if you are on regent or higher because i found that in chieften and warlord i did all the research because the computer is, well very stupid at the easir levels. On my last monarch game, i won be diplo at about 1740 AD, and that isn't even my best (1550 or so by what else....domination :die:)

You can do it but you need to develop your core cities properly.
