Resource Monopoly...

BTS/ Version 319. As I attempted to protect the exclusive right to create Nukes I acquired all the uranium required to build them, however other civilizations were also building them as I discovered thru the use of my Espionage. Maybe passing the Free trade Resolution caused this...any suggestions as to the continued access to the resource for other civilizations while having the uranium resource monopoly?

Are you sure you have a monopoly? Uranium is not an uncommon resource. Turn on resource bubbles and take a close look at their land. If you have enough espionage to see into their cities I guess you can check their resource list to be sure.

The AI will not trade the last of a resource. Unless you forcibly take all the uranium or nuke it so they cannot work it any longer then you do not have an actual monopoly.

Oh, the OP thought he traded for all the uranium? Yeah, thats not possible.

Yeah, I reconned the entire map, I was the only one with access to uranium, I razed some cities not worth holding near the resource, nuked others too distant. I did however as Secretary General successfully pass the Free Trade resolution, I believe this only increases commerce not access to resources. Now that you mention it, there was one city the AI held that I had nuked. The square/plot was covered with nuclear fallout but when the mouse pointer was over the resource it did read as it was still improved. Thanks for the feedback...I'll post a screen shot of this city.

The AIs do rebuild uranium mines.
