I have checked the option, sometimes the AI respawns, but sometimes AI players vanish forever and they won't respawn again.

The game is pretty far now and few AI players are left, I want to see more AI players, can I apply a hack or a trick of some kind to get AI players back into my saved game?

Appreciate any help, because I really like this game I am playing now. :)

I was wondering about respawning AI as well, and I asked it in the Creation and Customization forum. Here is the answer that I got.

Their not really eliminated they receive a settler immediately after their last city is taken, so they keep all technologies and abilities; plus they receive additional units once they build a city.

They may be respawning where you cannot see them.

The way it works is, if you uncheck the box for respawn, no AI will come back. If you leave it enabled, the AI will come back, if there is a location to found a town.

This is often not the case in late game as the land usually has been taken.

I do not know about being able to put them, back in the game after the fact. You can continue to play after all civs are eliminated, if you want. Just select the gimme one more turn option and play as long as you want.

vmxa, I won the game by space victory and clicked the "gimme one more turn". But if I eliminate all AI players (in addition to the space victory) will it give me "gimme one more turn" once again and respawn all players if there is room for them? And if I eliminate absolutely all of them, will they respawn with the tech they had or will they begin from scratch with archer-type units?

If that is the case then I will try to eliminate them all, I think I can do it, but it is going to take some serious effort to get rid of the Babylonians, I saw a stack of at least 170 tanks yesterday, it is going to be one bloody battle, and he is right around the corner, no water between our nations he-he (both of us wired by rail road), will have to steal his plans to find the stack again and try to get my artillery close by to this stack and destroy it once and forever

No, respawn means they come back after you've eliminated them early in the game, if they didn't come back after that, they will not come back ever again. And you can't win the game twice like you said ;)

Yes, have you considered :nuke:nukes:nuke:? Maybe that will do the trick against the stack of tanks? :goodjob: It will be swift, I promise you.
If they have nukes themselves though, you're in for a mayhem because they will not hesitate to let it rain.

CivFart, as was stated by Theov they will not come back. I was just saying you could play endlessly with no AI.

There is no point to them coming back at that stage as they would have nothing, but a size 1 town against your holdings.

The AI only respawn if there is a large amount of unclaimed territory, so it only works for AI destroyed really early in the game. If there's not they will never respawn, as they must respawn immediately. However if you wipe out a large area and THEN destroy someone, they'll respawn. Basically its for only keeping the civs from disappearing extra early in the game.
