Why in the name of Knubb would North Korea do that? They would know that they, and the rest of the world, would be transformed into a pit of radioactivity due to US atom bombs. A very unrealistic scenario.

But for the sake of this thread: I would call for help from Europe and China.

I would spare the North Korean general populace as much as possible. They are just sheep controled by fear, and they don't deserve to die just because of the sins of their masters. After the initial strategic strikes, I would set up refugee camps in rural areas of North Korea and the DMZ and allow the innocents a chance to escape.

You're damn right they'd show some resolve! They'd probably be willing to fight the entire world if it was necessary to get to North Korea.

Lob a couple of missiles half-heartedly toward the "DPR"K, this country would be better off without San Francisco and Los Angeles.

    ;)

    The scenario is highly improbable.

I'd retaliate against military targets, Kim's palaces and Pyongjang, with nuclear weapons, of course.

There is no need to make the North Korean people suffer more than they already do under Kim's sadistic rule.

That depends on the outcome. If the US were crushed, maybe they'd become pacifists like Japanese :D

Immediate conventional strike folowed by invasion. Using nukes would only lower ourselves to the level of terrorists. In the event of a North Korean nuke attack, most of the world would be more than willing to invade North Korea, so no trouble finding allies.

Nuclear response would be necessary in order to take out the bulk of conventional forces, that could lay waste to Soul and other border areas in South Korea.

I doubt that NK would use a nuke if there was no aggression from the west.

Yes, because Kim is so nice and friendly guy elected in democratic elections, right? We know for sure that he is responsible and rational... :crazyeye:

I would use nuclear retaliation against military targets hoping to keep civillian deaths low, and hope to stop more nukes from hit American soil.

Well it not like we are in short supply, and I want to press the big red button.:)

I would laugh and say we didn't really like that city much anyway, and then press the big red button of doom.

It would be my policy to respond to any nuclear attack on my nation with a full retaliatory strike to destroy any and everything they have, including civilian targets.

A huge wave of stealth bombers droping couple of small nukes (as many as needed) to take out the site where the nuke came from and any other nuclear site and conventional bombs on every north korean military target in the whole country. huge war along the border to push back the invading north koreans, and a large puish up the penisular and a cool d-day style invasion in the very north to look cool.
A few submarines off the coast of china and a couple of "accidental" bombing raids on chinese bored forces to tell them not to try anything stupid.

No need for that. In such a scenario the Chinese themselves will probably invade the DPRK instead of coming to its aid. :p

That's it, you'd deprive Americans of their victory and they hate that ;)
