Return to Roots NES 2

thanks for posting summaries. fell asleep last night when i was updating. woke up briefly and turned it off. please remember that ONLY if you economy is higher than stable can you build up your army. If you want to raise or economy say so or sell of part of your military. This is taken into acount for tonight's update.

That dosn't seem right, cause even if you have a bad economy you can easily just draft tons of people and arm them easy enough. After all many armys have been made without any money behind it at all.

hows this sound then, everytime you upgrade economyy goes down once. IF you are in a depression cant upgrade at all. Also economy determines effectiveness of your army.

That sounds better. That way you can't just quickly grow a large well-armed/trained fighting force. You'll have to keep your economy up, not just have a large military expansion.

Is it possible that this is a bit harsh?

I think this is very harsh, since those whose armies and navies are already big will find it much easier to dominate those that have smaller armed forces, since when they were upgrading they didn't have to worry about their economies then.

lol SKILORD you were complaining about how hard it is, I agreed.

And upkeep would be a fairer way :p

Anyway, I instead suggest that each economic level have a maximum size of military forces that they can support, so that you have to upgrade your economy to be able to support larger militaries.

And those with militaries too large for their economic level will find troops deserting or starving etc, just like Russia in the 1990s.

Thoughts?

I think that with foreign aid, one can still maintain a large military force. For example, North Korea's economy is pitiful, yet they still command the 4th largest military force in the world. I think that this would give foreign aid a whole new dimension and a whole lot more to the gameplay.

yes toasty is right and i thought it would be best to do this so that everyone suddenly gets gigantic armies and to keep a good economy as a high priority. Foriegn aid works in the same way. The way uk suggested sounds good. I will post the final rules for this on page 1, since it has been a long time since i have updated the rules. Update will come as soon as i am done with updating the timeline, EQ's History of the World, and the front page rules.

Starting update now if anyone is watching.

The war we were fighting has ended. Our allies have both left the fight. Whats the point in fighting? We will give Quebec independence upon your withdrawal.

-OOC-

I have added onto the rules on page 1. Any modifications or something i missed i would be pleased if you mention it.

I am leaving town tomorrow until Sunday. On Sunday i will begin regular updates once more around 8 PM EST.

Happy New Year!

As an example of the new rules, Heine asked for his army to be increased to gigantic. His economy is stable. with the increase of his army and navy his economy would go down to depression and his army would begin to revolt against him with deserting and mutinies. I will let him rethink his choice.

Madagascar is white. Do not mistake it for unsettled land.

The rebellion should not have been allowed to pass. I'm religious and Democratic. Not only that, it was a corrupt piece of ****.

And now EQ tells me 9/10ths of my GIGANTIC army has been defeated by a LESSER FRACTION of a LARGE army?

I quit.

what RNE has a large army?! i thought it was gigantic. must have misread something somewhere. sorry about that. i'll post a new map.

OOC:Hey,I invaded Rome as well,I don't think they're capable holding off both us and Egypt,so I should have at least a beachhead in Greece

ooc: toasty, just becasue you are religious and democratic doesn´t mean that parts of other countries you invade cant rebell. A rebellion in france however would be unlikely. AND there were no traits as the rebellion started

OOC: How come my education is still poor and my economy stable? Every turn I've sent orders to improve my economy! Can I please have my economy grow a little, please? :goodjob:
