First off - this is my first new thread. Apologies if I make a mistake in it's creation or if it's in the wrong place.

In 2100 Bc the Aztecs popped round. Being English, I offered them tea and quietly waited to see what they wanted. Montezuma - after dunking his biscuit - mused, 'Give us Silks or you're dead'. Bad show all round.

Hamburg: 1985. The last Aztec musketman falls to my combined arms offensive, marking then end of a seething 3084 year desire for retribution. All my dealings with all other Civs - including the Aztecs themselves - lead up to this point.

So, is this normal or am I barking ?

You gave them 3083 years????

Somone crosses me like that, he better build a very deep bunker! :sniper:

That`s why almost all my games end with either domination/conquest or diplo (if I took on too many opponents at oncea and can`t win via dom). :D

Yeah, it's pretty hard to win via the peaceful route.

I build my empire, improve the lives of my subjects, and endeavour to live in peace with my neighbours...

Then some idiot makes some ridiculous request, or sneak attacks me. I don't usually stop until his civilization is completely destroyed, with no trace whatsoever that they ever existed.

This will happen over and over again, with me usually being at war with at least 2-3 morons at any given time.

If I get one of the agressive civs as a neighbor, I usually try to kill them as quickly as possible. The Zulu, Aztec, Japanese and Germans will all attack you without provocation. Of course, any civ will attack you if you're weaker. Build up your army, suprise them, and crush them with overwhelming force. Unfortunately, peace doesn't get you anywhere but in a grave in civ3.

If I am cought off guard, however, with an unexpected demand or sneak attack, then it's time for a no holds barred rampage. For me, revenge is a dish best served steaming hot. I take speacial joy in killing civilians - razing, bombarding, whatever.

I almost don't see the point of attacking unless I feel I can eliminate the enemy entirely. Usually culture flips really piss me off. I've taken to not putting any units in a captured city and just parking them outside in preparation of losing the city to culture shortly.

Am I the only one who pays tribute by the way? I almost always do until I feel I'm ready for a sustainable war.
