It sounds like the AI needs a bit of work. I'm not really surprised by that, though.

Thankfully someone finally didn't just praise the game and actually mentioned its flaws. the g4 review clearly states that this isn't the be all end of strategy games every. It has some of the flaws that all civ games have had. Dumb diplomacy (that is now compounded by hiding the numbers) and AI that will sometimes make decisions that are not correctly weighted. Like going to war over one unit next to their boarders.

Overall the review was still very positive. It is looking like the best initial release of a civ game and with some time and work from fraxis and fans on fixes, the best civ game period.
