RFCE Leaders

I see, will try to look into it
Btw, who do you use as an early swedish leader?

Great news guys!
My request for Barbarossa is ready: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=19007
It's simply awesome. Will definitely be included in the next version

Another good news:
I will finally have more time to mod again after a few weeks (months?) pause
Hopefully we can have some serious progress again, hopefully releasing both RFCE 1.1 and the full map for RFCE II in 1-2 months

And I was thinking it would be possible for me to finally win with all civs (with Historical Victories) before the next version was released... ( my best attempt was at Beta 13, as anyone can see in my signature)

It's already time consuming to win with any civ, and even more when you lose (something that happened in this same Beta 13 with Austria, Genoa, Lithuania, Poland, France and Kievan).

Maybe one day I will... maybe

That Barbarossa is soo right! :)

Yep, it was high-time to have a real Barbarossa in the mod :D

Hehe :)
You might have time for that, release dates are very uncertain in Civ IV mods ,)
Btw, I even want to wait 3Miro to back (at least for a while), I want to discuss a few things with him before I release an 1.1 version...

Could a request a real Philip the Bold next? :)

It's melcher kurzer's work, but unfortunately he doesn't have as much time/will to make LHs nowadays
So I don't think he will take my next RFCE leader request - at least not for a while

I think I've seen the 1.01 release in another topic, and I only got through with Byzantines and Arabs (almost doing it with France too). Pretty hard that way hehehe

1.01 is only about a couple bugfixs and text updates
It's basically the same version as 1.0, so you can continue your quest ;)

So, Barbarossa and Isabella are upgraded to the latest versions
Already up on the SVN

EDIT: Just check out the difference between the Firaxis Isabella and this one. She truly looks like a royal and utterly proud queen now, and the detail is simply amazing
Btw, I really liked Melcher's previous version of Izzy too. Here is a pic of that one too

The new Barbarossa looks much better than the original version. He actually looks like a person now... (no offense to the person who made the original)

Yeah, I was never statisfied with that one
It wasn't even made to be Barbarossa, rather a Grandmaster of the Teutonic Knights
We could never find/use a decent one, up until now ;)

And the Byzantine? They only have Justinian, an early leader for the mod duration. Shouldn't they have at least one more leader? Maybe Basil I, reading a few things about byzantine history it seems to me he is indeed one of the most famous byzantine emperors. As almost all other civs have more then one leader, the long Byzantine Empire should have at least two.

Yeah, there are plans for a couple more leaders
For Byzantium, the most likely candidate is Basil II (958-1025)
I was also thinking of:
Mieszko as an early Polish leader
Gediminas for Lithuania
Gustav Adolph for Sweden
Margaret instead of Haakon IV for Norse
Harun al-Rashid instead of Abu Bakr for Arabia
It's all the matter of finding proper art of course

Yeah, there is a LH for Basil II from Ekmek, the one used in SoI, it seems really nice, but I think he wasn't so long haired. But the art depicting him on the internet is really bad, so no it's nice anyway.
