    I think it's some kind of bug, because in my games I've never seen a Teutonic Knight that isn't pink. :crazyeye:

    Wow . . . Ive never seen the Rus' survive the Golden Horde before. This should make an interesting Muscovy game - Russo-Ukranian tensions from the very start. :)

    (I immediately saved and clicked on "Retire" to watch the history playback, and they indeed fought off the Mongols; this is not a respawned Rus'. They lost a city or two to the barbs but immediately reconquered them.)

    Also interesting to note - Bulgaria and Arabia are Byz vassals, but I'm somehow not at war with Arabia despite being at war with their master. :confused:

    All of these are from my last game as Hungary which i eventually got UHV with.
    Pic 1 Arabs have conquered Constantinople, and have also converted to Orthodoxy.
    Pic 2 Not only did the Kievens survive the Mongols but they went on to make Muscovy their vassal.
    Pic 3 Devil Barbarossa

    These are both closer to bugs, than "OMG! Look what happened!"
    Can you post savegames either here, or in the Small bugs/fixes thread?

    The Pope is normal. He is just exploring and he can kill a few barbarians that happen to also roam around.

    What happened to the crusade, did you save/load or call two crusades at the same time or something of that nature? If you have a savegame, I would need one from right before the Crusader units appear.

    I'm scared...

    For this game, I tried to reunify Italy and eventually make a small Roman Empire as a personal achievment. Things went awry as Plagues kept getting in my way.

    And then there were Ottomans.

    The war was a result of pacts with France and England(Funny enough, they had pacts with eachother too.) And now I'm fortifying Cumae for a probable inevitable loss. I tried to send a counter attack to Istanbul, but had another horde and a 200+% defended city waiting for me.

    Yes, the Pope is just exploring... it's not a bug at all.
    It's a pity they cannot conquer anything.

    About the crusade, I don't remember anything strange about it apart that it was a very late one (1300's the Arabs were Orthodox) and that a few countries had huge armies on the field.

    I was reading the code:
    Code:
    def sendUnits( self, iPlayer ):
    		#iHuman = utils.getHumanID()
    		pPlayer = gc.getPlayer( iPlayer )
    		iNumUnits = pPlayer.getNumUnits()
    		if ( con.tBirth[iPlayer] + 20 > gc.getGame().getGameTurn() ):
    			iMaxToSend = min( 10, max( 2, (5*iNumUnits) / 100 ) )
    		else:
    			iMaxToSend = min( 10, max( 1, (5*iNumUnits) / 100 ) )

    Does it means that potentially each Civ may send up to 10 units?
    If a civ has >=200 units in total, then it will send 10 units to the crusades.
    Having 20 units at the crusade may happen if there are many Catholic civs with large armies on the field.

    Code:

    	def sendUnit( self, pUnit ):
    		iHuman = utils.getHumanID()
    		iOwner = pUnit.getOwner()
    		self.addSelectedUnit( self.unitCrusadeCategory( pUnit.getUnitType() ) )
    		self.[B]setVotingPower[/B]( iOwner, self.getVotingPower( iOwner ) + 2 )
    		if ( iOwner == iHuman ):
    			CyInterface().addMessage(iHuman, False, con.iDuration/2, CyTranslator().getText("TXT_KEY_CRUSADE_LEAVE", ()) + " " + pUnit.getName(), "AS2D_BUILD_CHRISTIAN", 0, "", ColorTypes(con.iOrange), -1, -1, True, True)
    		pUnit.kill( 0, -1 )

    This code appears called only after we check if the civ is Catholic... If not, then we risk to set non-Catholic civs to send units.

    It maybe tit's just that Catholic powers had a huge number of units in their armies, but so many units make you think I got the double of what was supposed to be.
    I will search but I don't think I have a save (I save only when I stop playing)

    Neither civ should send 10 units, no matter how big is their army (gameplay reasons, not historical)
    IMO it should be changed to 4

    sendUnit is only called from within sendUnits. sendUnits is called if a catholic player has decided to go to a Crusade (has non-zero voting power).

    The max number of Units is indeed 10, but this should happen in very rare circumstances. One condition is to have a huge army (>200 units). Then you send no more than 5% of your army. We can drop that to 5, but again, other than very rare situations, this should not matter.

    Also note that the more units you send the bigger your voting power (i.e. more influence you get in deciding the leader).

    Is there something worth in holding Jerusalem? Aside from the GA from conquering it, I can't see what it brings but instability and useless warfare against the Arabs. Granted, taking out the Arabs might be worth it but in my game they're way more powerful (and could crush me in Jerusalem but they don't :D).

    You get a Golden Age upon conquest, but other than that Jerusalem is useless.

    I can perhaps make it so that holding Jerusalem gives you more Papal favor for the free gold and buildings.
