Rhye's and Fall of Asia - Version 1.1

Random stuff that's been bothering me for quite a while:
  • Triemes should be possible to upgrade to BOTH caravels AND war ships.
  • There's still only the library providing scientist slots. Totally illogical as regards the other buildings. I suggest 1 for lib, 2 for uni (increase builduing costs), 1 for academy (the one enabled by GS), (maybe) 1 for observatory.
  • Late game AI researches too fast.

You do have a point here. Especially the scientist slots are an old topic that should have been included a long time ago.
Did you mean that the late techs are to cheap as a whole or that the late civs' tech cost modifiers are too low?

Well, it's finally fix now. ;)

The silk road mechanic is kind of messed up. When I choose the resources and gold option, it gives me that, but it doesn't tell me what I get. I have to figure out myself. Could you fix it?

We can fix anything;)
I'll also add the resource you get; why didn't thought of that?

Anyway, i gave myself an enlarged weekend so i played through every UHV except Kublai's path for the Mongols. I found a hell lot of bugs, which are fixed now, so every civ should be fully playable UHV-wise.
I'll upload it to SVN in this very minute.

Now that i'm done playing i can finally work on the Ming *shiver*

Sadly, crashes happen more often nowadays:( I'm not very good in finding them either... but as always, i do what i can.

And for the Zhou; not to make it sound like an excuse, but they have been there since the very start, and i can't correctly tell about the motivation of Black Whole who put them there. However, i think that you need something in China from the start, and it's better for gameplay reasons to have a single civ to represent anything from neolithic China to Qin China.

In retrospect, it might have been better to just start the game later, but certain design decisions can't ve reversed anymore, especially if they've been made by someone else.

That's propably as true as it gets.

No, it's in the right thread :D

Hey, thanks for this awesome Mod. I just love it. But some UHVs are nearly impossible, I think. For example, I played the Nanzhao Empire. Dhallit had size 18 or 19 in 970AD. So I had the biggest city in this year. But then the plague has spread there an Dhallit shrunk to size 13

There are some other hardly to win civs. Maybe I need to try again, but I just want to make you think about it :)

Well, thanks :)

The plague is a bit off... I did include DoC's plague module but didn't change anything about dates. It's as if sometimes there is none at all. I'll take a look, and i see that it's unfair to trigger the plauge right before the UHV's deadline.

Some UHVs are meant to be hard; my goal is that based on how well they did in history the easier the UHVs get. Especially, i tried to make UHVs that require a special tactic. Sometimes a special civic, a certain wonder, specialists in general or attacking a civ only after a certain date is vital. I hope it's fun to figure it out yourself:)
Otherwise, i can guarantee that all UHVs are doable since i playtested them all on Monarch :king:

Zing!:D:D:D:D:D

I note that the second picture is crash-free:p
For now at least.

This was only possible because i added Siam and Gupta to an really old DLL sourcecode (that i kept thank god), which basically means i have to swap every piece of code veeerrrrrryyyyy carefully from the new sourcecode to the old, because i have no idea yet what caused their not-working-state.
Might take some time.
