Right wingers - People's or Islamic Republic?

If you had to see your own country go

a) Soviet style communist, no elections, one party, no private enterprise etc etc

or

b) Saudi style Islamic theocracy, no freedom of religion, sharia/wahhabist law, no alchohol etc etc

which would you pick? I want to emphasise that I know in almost every country this sint a realistic proposition. and note that it isnt "would you rather live in Saudi Arabia or Cuba, this is your own country, transformed to one of the two choices.

Edit - title is an error, this sint just aimed at right wingers, as a lot of left wing people would have a soviet model too.

No ulterior motive, I think most people who chose option A (which I think most people will) wouldnt live in a soviet country if they were paid to. but I'm insterested to see a discussion on the merits and (more realistically) drawbacks of both systems.

Incidentally, I am no longer going to justify my threads to you or anyone else unless you give me a proper reason why the thread is pointless. If a moderator agrees with you, fair enough, but there are many, many threads stupider than this one so if you want to troll a thread please go somewhere else.

If the "people's republic" looked like Communist Czechoslovakia, it would still be less evil than Islamic theocracy. I mean, sure your life would suck either way, but Czech commies at least didn't cut off your limbs or stone women to death.

Depends. I wouldn't like to live in a stalinist dungeon nor in an islamic "republic". But it depends on the countries: if the islamic republic was a third world south saharan hell-hole and the communist country was an eastern European "second world" country, I'd take the stalinist one.

Communism itself doesn't suck. All attempts to make it work have sucked badly.

Theocracy as an idea is worse than communism, so if I had to choose I'd take communism. After all, there's a possibility it might be good.

Depend. I'd rather live in Any former eastern europen communist country or cuba than live in SA. But I'd rather live in SA than in North Korea or Kampuchia
