    Ok, nevermind... good old Wikipedia:

" Years before the epoch were denoted a.C.n. (for Ante Christum Natum, Latin for "before the birth of Christ") "

    Lurker input:
Well, then why not have a.u.c. (ab urbe condita - since the founding of the city)? That would even add more flavour to the world, wouldn't it? to bad we can't change the counting when Christianity is introduced.

I think just using BC/AD would be good because that's what people are used to. I know if we used a.u.c. I would always just be converting it into BC/AD in my head.

I started to make a cut and paste version of the late legionary that we need. Here's a pic of it. Do you think I should continue it, or is it a waste of time?

    Nice!

It would work as a replacement, although I'd hope there would be more historical version made, some day... :)

Well you see the problem is that I'm only about 1/4 of the way done with the cut and paste. Its very tedious. I'm actually downloading the demo for Poser right now. I might make it that way if I can figure it out.

    Hi,

I know you won't be pleased to hear this, but I will focus on Battlefield 2 for some time to come, meaning I'm not gonna play either Civ III or RFRE the coming weeks.

The reason I let you know, is this: if you still have any feedback on the logo, e-mail me; don't post it in this thread anymore or PM it me, for I will probably not read those. I will read my e-mail though - of course - so you can give your feedback that way.

    Bye.

Looks cool, Gunner. Especially nice shield... The background pixels look like they need some touch-up, though.

Well I didn't actually make any of the graphics. The shield is from the Roman auxilia I think by Aaglo. The sword is from the Firaxis celt guy. The base model is the Huscarl, which I found in the RFRE folder.

After Slavery we begin the Second Punic War
Legions build road to connect Illyrian cities to the Homeland.
I wait for Scipio’s army and then will wage war against Carthage…

    BC 220
Rome has finished Praetor. The empire now is quite strong economically.
Rome has new legion every 2, Capua in every 4, Pisae in every 6 turns.

    BC 212
After the Second Punic War we begin Latifundia.
Our military is big (22 legions), too big financially.
The Senate can’t stay calm, orders war! We head towards Macedonia.
(well, I know, this is alternating IRL history, not aiming Cartage NOW)
    I spot Hamilcar in Pannonia!
    Numidia attacks Carthage!

    BC 210
    I attack Macedonia…
    (and keep eye on Hamilcar)
After conquering Thessalonika, I face strong conterattack (some 10 units),
But can handle it… even Philippus!

    BC 203
I have captured Philippi, only Trimontium left
(3 more turns, just as the city name indicates it :))
Hamilcar is nearby, I plan to catch him…

Our economy is not so strong now, less shields…
(what happened? Was that some GA earlier?)

    BC 200
It is the end for the Macedonian Greeks!
It was good practice for my legions… :D
Now, Scipio will be at hand in 3 turns, so…
Hamilcar is heading towards Delphi, but I do all my best to keep him far from home!
My legions now head home from Greek land…
In power Rome is about the same size as Carthage…

Your economy is probably getting weaker because you are building legions. That can hurt it in two ways since you lose 2 populaion for each legion and you pay 6 gold for each unit over your 40th.

My solution is to build hordes of Velites :D

After Latifundia we begin Macedonian War.
I have encircled Hamilcar in Greek land – what will he do???

Oooh, NO! I don’t get Scipio! I put Imperium Scipionis in Pisae...
    – now I see I should have put it into Rome...aarghh
    Anyway, what is left?

    BC 194
    I ATTACK CARTHAGE
Hamilcar is killed in the first move...
There are two Barcae armies in Delphi...!!!

Uhh, cannot I make allies from Gallia???
    Nobody joins me...

    it is gonna be tough...

War in Greece is going OK, but in the west...
    I see Carthage’s force:
25 Triremis Summa ships with 2 Quinqueremis transports!!!
And in Gallic lands: 5 Barcae armies!!!
    I gasp for air...

My only luck – if it is - that Carthage attacked Gallia...

    BC 189

    So far I hold on...
Greece is cleared of Carthagians! :king:
In a glorious battle in south of Gallia, I killed 3 Barcae armies! :goodjob:
They tried to escape but my brave velites catched them, breaking through their auxiliary defense units and getting the 1HP fleeing Barcaes! Ave!

In the next turn I receive heavy counterattack...
I make a simple peace contract with Carthage...

    Map in BC 188

After Macedonian War we begin Marius’ Reform.
SPQR is over – people are unsecure and rioting...
    Contact with Aegyptus

    BC 182
I attack Gallia through the Alps – Sure I won’t let it all to Carthage!

    BC 178
Dacian barbars capture Narona in the adriatic region.
Carthage’s fleet moves up the Adriatic Sea – to attack Dacia? No, just visiting...

    BC 170
We gain lands in Gallia, plan to take capital and then peace treaty.
After Marius’ Reform we go for Agrarian Troubles.

    BC 167
I was late – Carthage took Gergovia...
Contacts with Britannia. I continue war in Europa with Gallia, but at the same time
Turn to Dacia as well, to defend borders...

    BC 153
We have conquered what we could in Gallia on the mainland.

We have Agrarian Troubles, Sulla's Rule is next

    BC 140-125
    Rome has Ostia!
The Empire enters a Civil War!
Lex Agraria in Rome – Civitas given to all cities during Civil War!
    Carthage makes peace with Gallia

I prepare for a war against Pergamum - we don't need later trouble with them...

    @ V. Soma
You should be able to just buy Permagum rather than fighting.

    @naziassbandit
I'm not really able to modifiy much of anything in that unit. I am just using the base huscarl unit and changing each frame in Photoshop. I've been looking at 3D programs today, but alot of it seems either too complicated or expensive for me.

ugh buying Pergamum is a pain it's over 4000 gp in my game. It was easier to land and take it then to buy it. Now Rhodes on the other hand....
V.Soma I have a bad feeling you are going to have trouble in spain.

Ok, I think I actually might use the 3D program Daz Studio to make the Late Legionary. I've found most of the models and props I'm gonna need.
I have some questions for naziassbandit or anyone else who might know. What type of armor should be used? I think it should be chain but I'm just making sure. Also, what weapon? I was thinking of simulating a spatha by elongating a gladius. Or would a spear be better?

We attack Pergamum – and we do conquer the city in 2 turns! No army will come from there!

    BC 107
    Peace with Pergamum
After Sulla’s Rule we learn Education.
Carhage’s army rambles through our land towards Dacia.

I have not much money in the treaury...

(I wait for armies to be created by Pompeianus, also I need some Marius legions,
then I will try and face that war in Spain...)
