Am I being dumb and missing something obvious...

Tried playing rise of rome warlords scenarios as Egypt.
The other players all gaining vps each turn but could figure out how to gain mine.

Is the victory resource for egypt gold?
How do you gain the vps.

Manual says forified improved stronghold...
I tried buiding mine, forts fortifiying units but nothing seemed to work.

Any suggestions?

It says in the intro text that each civ starts with 1 victory point location except of the civ you're playing... You'll have to conquer them...

You can get the victory resource when another civ becomes your vassal. At least, this worked once for me (I made Brennus my vassal). When another civ capitulated in the same game (Pyrrhus), I could not get its victory resource. Not sure why. Anyone??

Probably because someone has pillaged the "victory location" resource. Or roads, and you cannot trade resources.

Yeah. Turn on resources view, and look close to enemy capitals.

How about that... OK, I'll check that the next time I play that scenario. Thanks!

In the situation above -- if that victory resource had been pillaged indeed AND still remained within the territory controlled by what would now be my vassal -- is it possible to send in my own workers into my vassal's land to redevelop that victory resource, and eventually force the vassal to trade it back to me?

(Sheesh!)

So if the victory resource lies near the capital, conquering just the capital and some of the lands around it would be enough to grab the nearby victory resource (as opposed to conquering the whole civ), right?

Yup, its just a regular resource, you just have to have your culture over it.
Now I got one, the trebs in this scenario have +100% city strengh instead of +100% city attack. That means it gets its bonus attacking and defending a city. Would this be considered a bug?
