Adding tanks for minor nations is taking a bit of time ... the crash to desktop on loading is annoying ... got to get every bit of syntax correct :(

So for each model added, I start rtw and check. 10-15 minutes of coding and 5-10 minutes loading and checking the model in worldbuilder. Patience is a virtue ;)

I'll create a screenshot for each nation once I have done.

    Spoke too soon - :(

163 unique Aircraft to add into the XML. This will take more time than the tanks.

I used to be a "Data Integrity Officer" for IT, so accuracy and detail is very important to me.

All major Nations have had their Aircraft Models updated (including correct scaling)... Now to start work on the Minor Nations. This should not be too hard as many minor nations used major nations ex-frontline aircraft.

Some Screenshots (for preview - still needs refining)

I am thinking I should make the aircraft 50% or 100% bigger ?

First Minor Nation completed - Poland.

Decided to scale the aircraft up 50% of 2/3rds the size of the original in RtW.

When I tried 100% bigger based on the screen shots shown above, big aircraft like the Lancaster, etc. were going well over the sides of the square. Only the B-29 does that now and as that is used to represent the Atomic (and limited in number), I can cope with that.

btw: Hungary, Denmark/Norway, Holland/Belgium, Spain, Baltic States, Turkey, Finland, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Austria, - Done

    10 more nations (42 UU's) more to complete :(

Thanks for the encouragement ... keep it coming.

kiwitt, remembering your announcing your alpha for May 2010 I checked back in this thread, but now with a different understanding of what you're trying to do, since I recently learned how to add units and UUs to mods, myself. So take that as another encouragement! And by the way, will there be anything that might cause incompatibilies with a mac, I wouldn't see why? That would be pity.

not a ship exactly. It replaces the Frigate. So essentially there will be some initial ones you can not build any more until you develop more tech. However, they can be built in almost any city.

As to MAC compatibility ... don't know ... can you play Road-to-War Original on the MAC? I have added "dozens" of new units and graphics, but did not change the DLL.

I do look to be on target for an Alpha - Release in May - woo-hoo !!! I be taking a well earned holiday at the end of May for a week and will not see a computer / internet as well.

Thankfully I only need to work on the Major Nations Ships and I have done many already. Just the submarines and destroyers.

I am feeling a sense of relief at this stage of development and am looking forward to playing again soon. I have been reading many books, websites, wikipedia articles, etc., in order to make this the most accurate possible. It's been over 9 months since I played last and am starting to miss it badly. While modding "Road-to-War" is satisfying it is not the same as playing. With the bulk of Version 0.40 now completed, I just now need to tidy up the actual scenario and complete the ships, which will take a just a couple of more weeks. Most of all I have to thank my wife who has seen me working on this for the last many months in my study patiently.
