Roads and tile improvements not appearing

So yea, when I build a road, it doesn't appear. The tile still looks like a blank unimproved tile, but when I mouse over it, there is a road on it and the tile gives all the benefits of the road. This also happens with some other tile improvements like farms, mines, quarries, and lumber mills. I am running the game on DX11 with all the video settings set to the highest, and I have a top of the line PC. Any help?

Zooming once in and out as much as possible (mousewheel) might help. I noticed though since BNW this doesn't really work for me flawlessly (while it did in GnK) as it only loads half of the new tile improvement most of the time (might fix itself after some turns or more scrolling in and out, but I really don't wanna have to waste time with that).
