Mocha statues on the pennisula in Avra I think it is called.
There is fish to the east of Birka. Whip a monument there to get the 2nd border pop so you can settle whatever island has those fishies. You're in slavery...get to whipping boy. You threw brave warriors off a cliff, don't be squeamish about a few citizens.
Run a prophet in Nidaros, You might as well shrine mecca. With no libraries, you need the slider jacked up as much as possible.
Build more workers. You have 4 workers and EIGHT cities.
 
Are you working your capital fish? And with colossus, just granary, maybe forge, then grow as fast as possible. I'm sure you can get almost 100 ocean tiles for a ridiculous number of beakers.
 
Yeah! Work those sea tiles, get to astronomy asap, ship you berserkers to wherever there's some booze and have fun pillaging, raping the sheep and slaughtering the women!!

The inginuity of Vikings in searhc of new sources of drink!!!! Time to ramp this baby up. Scientists, libraries, universities, BAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regardless of the diplomatic situation, we still make trades

Good thing for Willem, he has alcohol raw materials. Ragnar quickly loses interest and uses a trade mission for 5700 gold.



Finally we hit liberalism first (note we settled those two ice-bound cities.



We took astronomy for free. Sure it obsoletes the colossus but with the foreign trade routes it doesn't matter much.

And start teching nationalism for first crack at the Taj.

OK, Guilds is really useful to get, so we may detour there. The grocer, knights, and access to chemistry (VIKING PRIVATEERS!!!!!!!!) is probably well worth it!

we already have an army of Berserkers doing nothing but getting drunk. Time to build some Galleons and sail off to Ottoman lands, and try some of that Turkish wine!
 
willem is willing to trade guilds, and a number of other AI's already have it, so see what he wants for it, as long as it dosnt give up your astro advantage you can probably come out on top, especially considering the diplo situation means that whatever you give up for it isnt likely to go anywhere quickly.

other than that, rape, pillage and plunder, not necessarily in that order and all will be well for the drunken vikings... so long as the booze holds out at any rate.

I'd be very surprsed if the sake (rice) in Inca lands flipped to Holland its right next to a holy city and miles from the border
 
Cold Drunk Viking Scum: Part IV

Well the Vikings got rip roaring smashed and cornered the entire world's supply of wine. A little fancy for Ragnar's tast, but Booze is Booze even if a little high society! Sake is another case.

We start by looking to Willem for a trade for Guilds



Fantastic! Grocers to sell our Hootch!

Next a colony is spun off, who more likely to have the world's wine market



We make a decent trade with Julius who has an incredibly small empire for a Roman. Rome appears to be a dry state, not interest from Ragnar there.



We load up our Galleons with plenty of Drunk Beserkers, tell them there is a new type of Drink but it's protected by the French, and send them on their way!

Raised one, captured another



On the southern half we take the last city and a barb city



Sorry Lou, hardly knew you. Off course his parent Ai Suliman is ticked at us. He's ticked at Peter too who is attacking him also.

To cool off and retool we declare peace



Gotta get those wineries up a going, and a good old beer distillery. A fine island it is!

Still no Sake and Peter is rather large and #2 in power. we decide to wait a little bit and bring ALOT more drunken Vikings to the Turkish capital, with the promise of Sake to follow.

That GE to speed up Ankor wat and allow us to run all priests worked well. Especially since we cannot build the National Epic without a library!

After nationhood we adjust civics, for the discount and a draftable army mostly for the homeland.

A nice trade with Will to get us economics and FR to him which is his favorite civic.

And Lincoln offers us a bomb of a trade



Hell after steel, we can go for democracy.

And just as we get out entire army ready to attack Peter.



This happened



OK, alot of colonies, but Peter attacked Will. This means Peter likely sent a force at Will which means less of that largte power number army is defending the homefront.

We saved here and



Still doing well in tech but not as well. Those libraries/universities/observatories are catching up.

So the only queestion I have is this

1) Do we force the Viking Scum to attack Peter/Suliman right now and let them get roaring drunk AFTER capturing the Sake

or

2) Spend 10-20 turns getting loaded first, tech steel and upgrade to cannons first!
