Welcome folks to my next Role Play Challenge, Attila the Hun. These games are meant to be fun and educational although I am not sure how much education is needed these many years later. Feel free to join the fun.

Our leader met a grim end in the first attempt at this game. Attila is back with an attitude, time to rid the world of Civilization once and for all.

And that is just where we are going here

Game settings

Emperor difficulty, epic speed, Pangea Huge Map.
Random leader traits on
No Tech Trading
No Vassals
18 leaders
We are playing as Cyrus of the Byzantines
Aggressive Leaders.

The Rules (only change is rule 5):
1) All civilization must be destroyed
2) All Holy Cities, Corporation HQs, and Cities with a World wonder must be razed.
3) The Huns are forbidden from building ANY World Wonders, can only build the HE/WP/MR national Wonders
4) All science is forbidden. This means libraries, universities, observatories, labs and scientist specialists. Other specialists and buildings are OK.
5) We cannot open borders
6) BArbarian cities may never be attacked and barb units can only be killed while defending.

Our Babrarian Leader

GAme settings in case I was not clear

And the Start

Remember we can build cottages but cannot open borders. Looks like Attila has some happiness resources nearby although both require some work on the tech tree. With teh sea to our back perhaps the Huns are better equipped to ravage Civilization.

two question I meant to ask last game:

1) can you build monasteries?

2) What about the Red Cross? Technically, it is a military NW, although I never build it myself.

3) And Globe Theatre?

okay, Mad, I wanna see an Attila GG power mounted unit from you this time ;)

Good question about Monestaries. The need to spread our state religion for the benefit of Theocracy outweighs the 10% beaker benefit, so I say yes, but we will limit to the stat religion and perhaps only one city.

REd Cross, I say yes if I build enough hospitals which I don't plan to do.

Remember we can build cottages but cannot open borders.
Looking forward once again, guess Spies and Merchants are the new big thing amongst the Huns I reckon, cause the not even observatories :crazyeye:
I mean, come on, The Huns look at the Stars every evening out there on the Steppes, with no City light to obscure the Stars
Heres hoping for a real revenge

the start is crap :)

I am thinking about trying how far you get with milking monasteries (since it is not forbidden and one can argue that Attila was religious)

Does the "raze holy cities" mean you can't find religions yourself?
With the lake I have the idea of Poly-->CoL and maybe Philo to milk the monasteries a bit.

I seriously hope there is more then meets the eye to the start because so far its to say the least, NOT GOOD :) The only good thing is the oasis right now with 2 coins from the start so you should have a shot at a religion.

Do me a favor, if Shaka is close, kicks his behind first ;)

REVENGE! BURN THE CITIES TO THE GROUND! BURNKILLBURNKILLBURN! :mwaha:

ugly start as far as we can see, no good food, and Warrior not in a spot where it can find anything. I'd throw warrior 1se, and unless finding seafood settle 1ne (fog can hardly have worse than your current area)

The start is kind of meh, let's hope there's something nice in the fog.

REVENGE! BURN THE CITIES TO THE GROUND! BURNKILLBURNKILLBURN! :mwaha:

Hey, at least Mad first has to find someone/something to kill and burn. Patience, young man :D

Um...HE CAN KILLBURN THE INVISIBLE PEOPLE! KILLBURNKILLBURNINVISIBLEPEOPLE!!!

I think I’ve invented a new word, killburn.

:D

The Open Borders rule is annoying for a couple of reason - a) declining OB requests multiple times a turn b) the lack or trade routes is really a killer

The Huns were actually traders too

anyway, I got a pretty big empire but just could not get anywhere tech wise.

you can have cottages and once you get to democracy they are actually good! :)

Nonesense, Attila cannot kill barbarians, it's in the rules!

No, I’m talking about the ones that controlled mankind since the wheel and makes you forget that they even exist.

Dr Who reference FTW!

Also, KILLBURNKILLBURNKILL!!!

:D

Revenge of the Huns: Settlement

Attila and his Huns had been shamed in a previous existence. The care free attitude of the HUns were rewarded with war and desolation og Hun lands at the hands of the vicious civilized countries.

"No MOre" The Hun leader screamed and the warriors slowly nodded there agreement as they we urged on by the entire clan, men and women alike. With a grim determination the Huns set forth to building their lands and prepared for vengence upon the civilized lands.

The Huns are not interested in wasting time contemplating the values of points of settlement, the first city is established

Nor are cities given colorful names like the Civilized dogs, but are simply numbered. The first Build is a settler to get a second city fast as the Huns research Mining followed by Bronze Working.

The immediate area shows elephants in the distance, a valued prize learned the hard way in a previous life.

Also numerous villages were found who were glad to support the Hun campaign against the civilized world, providing gold and technology.

The Huns can build walls, perhaps of use later on.

A host of annoying leader presented themselves at the Hun borders feigning peace and cooperation. Attila instructed his people to ignore them.

The Locals continued their help by providing a map

Soon the first settler was complete before Bronze Working with choices for the Hun leader

Gold is avaible for local commerce, a good thing. Many huns suggest settling on the the river but the Hun leader has other plans

"Settle on the Hill" in an arrogant challenge to the Civilized world. The foreign leaders looks at the Huns with humor, but we will see who laughes last.

After settling Hun City 2, Attila finds copper

Just out of reach, Damned!

A civilized nation is on the Northest border area, and will probably access the copper first.

Research is directed towards Agriculture followed by Animal Husbandry and Hubting.

Rather than panic Attila orders his warrior to scout more land while City #2 expands in population and soon starts it's own settler.

Exploration pays off

Except another cursed civilization is very near it. With slavery adopte City #2 whipe a settler and sends them south fast.

Monuments are being built to expand borders and Attila considers a communication system as he ponders future techs, of which archery is a clear need.

After that perhaps Pottery and Iron Working. writing is a neccesary evil for MAth and construction, but fo now let Attila ponder his future actions.

If anyone is interested in what Civilized dogs are out there

A large Cruel smile spreads over the Hun Leader's lips, yes time to ponder Vengence.

Willem of Mongolia and Frederick of Aztec

Shame persons with that much potential have fallen to the concept of civilization, so eventually they will have to die :hammer:
...hopefully
