ROTQM12: Re-enactment Of The Queen Mother

So, I have bad news:

Woodsie was fleeing some Germans, ran into a barb, then more germans. Klauss slapped him five times before he succumbed.

Founded this:

Birthed this fella:

Totally not sure what to do with him. Is esp worth anything in all war?

Explored this:

Finished writing, selected Maths, but am building up our treasury towards that. I literally cannot read what else i wrote, but I know it wasn't much since I only played 10. I pre-chopped around london a bit; thought maybe we could go for a wonder? It's 3 turns from a library (i started another one two at our "City-btwn-the-capitals"), but i swapped it to a sword since it's about to grow into unhappiness. maybe chop and whip a wonder instead?

also, i started to cottage one of the extra elephants. That's the proper move correct, since we won't be selling another one? I moved some units to the north for protection, but we have a barb axe (SW) and a barb warrior (SE) coming in, so i have two axes moving south to them.

wondering if we should found two more cities, then go all out on the smashing? we've done surprisingly little of that so far

Roster:
Ozbenno
Ruff
Volition
pholkhero >> just played
rex
Timon of Athens
GreyFox

not sure what the situation is for the roster. I'll let the moderator sort that out.

I don't see us stealing much tech ... as we should be ahead of them. That said ... passive EP will give us their graphs, tech visibility and, eventually, city visibility. I think MERGE. The other option is a GOLDEN AGE.

got it.

Here we go another unknown number of turns.

First off ...

No ... wait ... that wasn't first. REVOLT to Judaism. That was first. Quickly followed (next turn) by a REVOLT to Organized Religion. Time to expand our borders using the religion that I founded during my last set. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Anyway ... the pic above shows some barb cities. Free experience? Not that we have to worry about the Barbs ... because we have the GREAT WALL.

That said ... I let myself get a little messed up by the AXE barb.

As you can see, we finished a road to help connect our East and West ... and I let a barb get on that tile ... with a forest to help protect him. I was guarding the workers who were providing alternative roads options between our cities ... but I should have parked a unit on that critical tile. I got lucky ...

While attacking in the wild near Kyoto, Axeman 3 (Kyoto) (0.20/5) defeats Barbarian Axeman (Prob Victory: 9.1%)

Oh yes ... the QM laid a mission on us ... BtS - Holy Mountain Quest. Hmm ... benefit is +1 Happy ... should we try?

Barb city cleaned up.

... and that ended the set. Maths complete. Saving gold for Calendar (banana, happy resources). I would dearly love to grow our cities but a) no food and b) happy cap. We have some borders expanding shortly that will bring GEMS into play. Get ready to connect and mine those!

We have some fog between our two archer sentries ... moving to fill that ...

Next city is marked, tile cleared, missionary ready, settler in production.

We also got some religion spread ... so all of our cities are Jewish.

Spoiler log :

Next Player ... please review the EP spend. I think we might be overspending on Germany.

The EP points had been fiddled with

Left it even against all AI until we know what we're actually wanting to do with the points.

Thought long and hard about switching Calendar to Construction but as we had beakers invested continued as we would lose some of those beakers.

The first AI comes a calling

Played until Calendar came in and started plantations on spice and dye for the happies but I really wish I had researched Construction instead as Elephants and Catapults would be really handy right now

Not as bad as it seems as Julius doesn't have any swords so archers should be enough to defend and Mao has to come into the open and has no axes so we should think about attacking with our axes if he isn't across the river and his swords are defending. We can whip defenders and a wall if needed. Genghis has a Keshik as well in range, so a spear or two would be good as well.

Good luck pholk

London: spear > finish sword

IBT: a french combat 3 Warrior approaches Nottingham

whip axe @ nottingham

London: sword > walls
Not: axe > sword
Axe kills the French warrior

one unit approaches to the north:
imagine one unit here

we're well defended for now there, and at Hastings:
imagine a well-defended city

*I only have three pics for some reason from this session. Here's the scene when i started my turns:

There's less bad guys now

and we found the north tip of the continent:
