Yes, ROTQM is back  :run:

Having previously dealt with General Beast, Time Travel, Vogon Poetry and Quarrelplegic Midgicants, this time we're tackling Fall From Heaven. :goodjob:

We will be playing as Garrim Gyr of the Luchirup.

Usuallish ROTQM rules apply, Always War, No Tech Trading, Prince. I used a Tectonics Map, 30% water, standard size and epic speed. We're teamed up with the other dwarf tribe as well (I added two extra AI to even things up).

Looking for a few more to round out the roster, preference given to old ROTQMers. Remember this isn't a technical SG as such, quality of report far outweighs quality of play. Usual DM etiquette apply.

Roster
Ozbenno
Jet
Rex Tyrannus
pholkhero
Imhotep

Warning: the AI in the latest FfH patch is broken when it comes to Always War. It only builds warriors non-stop. The new FfH AI is in strange shape in general now.

That's okay. The lack of any actual intelligence on this team will make up for it.

Checking in. And I think Immy PMed and said he'd ply his art with us.

and to think i missed the planning stages...

alright, i find myself in yet ANOTHER SG....

let's do this ~

Ah, screw the AI. If it's hosed, turn off all war and let's just declare manually first chance we get. Civ3 style.

Now, whose turn is it to lube up the farm animals? It's time to get silly!

Oh, and what's this FFH thing you guys keep talking about?

Sabathiel: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first meeting of the newly formed Council of Erebus. Let us hope that the gods smile upon this venture and allow us to live in peace. I believe the first motion to be called is from the Luchuirp. Garrim, the floor is yours.

Dain: Lets hope he makes it short.

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: <glares at Dain>. Thank you Sabathiel. If you refer to tablet no. 1, we wish to discuss mining rites as well as the associated trade routes, especially with respect to market access and...

Jonas: It is but a little thing to ask don't you think everyone.

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: <glares at Jonas> As I was saying, can we get agreement on access to everyone's markets for any mining products or indeed manufactured goods, we believe...

Faeryl: Why, that would be no small matter.

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: <glares at Faeryl> As a starting point we would propose setting up regional trade commissions to start the...

Falamar: If I could propose a tiny ammendment

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: <glares at Falamar>

<Silence>

Sabathiel: Falamar, your ammendment??

Falamar: Uh what? I mean we should include shipping as well.

Garrim: As I was saying, by doing this, we can avoid unecesssary transport charges and...

Varn: Can we not add miniscule carriage charges to any freight?

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: ENOUGH! Why must you all make fun at our size? Do you see us making fun at you, Faeryl has weird ears, Varn is blind, Jonas is an orc, Dain is a complete nerd, Falamar wears that stupid eyepatch and Tebryn, I don't even know what you are for Nantosuelta's sake!!!

Tebryn: <snigger>

Sabathiel: Garrim, I'm sure this is just a minor misunderstanding

Tebryn: <snigger>

Garrim: AAHHHH! Now you make fun of our profession as well. That is it, consider this a declaration of war upon all of you by the two dwarven nations, come on Kandros let us go and plan their destruction.

Kandros: <yawn>, we do what now???

Was it broken before patch i?

No.

Ah, screw the AI. If it's hosed, turn off all war and let's just declare manually first chance we get. Civ3 style.

That'll be the same thing.

I'd be up for this if you want more players.

Once you choose a patch (sounds like patch g might be less experimental) I'd suggest putting it in a mod folder named "Fall From Heaven g" or something to avoid conflicts.

Excellent, you're in.

Yeah, patch g seems the way to go. I think that you can down and upgrade with patches. Previously, I've been able to run an old patch for a SG and a newer patch for SP games in the same root folder (I'll test this as well).

I'll throw out a start tonight.

Ah, what the heck. Sign me up as the weekends special.

1E isn't terrible and Exploration -> Fishing would get a 4F3C clam tile for each civ, but between epic and double hill movement we can scout pretty far with the settler, even though some visibility will be blocked by the forest hills. I'd do that, probably clockwise, and see if there's a better spot.

Edit:

Remember this isn't a technical SG as such, quality of mad lolz far outweighs quality of play.

Whoops. I mean,

Hurf hurf, hurf hurf, hurf.

My bad.

i think if one of those warriors goes NE and the other NW on turns 1 and 2 before we settle, we'll see what's nearby.

if nothing better, then we can settle on the hill at the end of turn 2 as our last move.

I'll be busy shooting people with blanks, not eating much and sleeping even less for the next couple of weeks. See you all when I drag myself back to the civilian world.
