Well, the first round of the scandinavian champions league is over. Here are the results:

    Group A
    Rosenborg-Djurgården 4-4
    Esbjerg-Vålerenga 0-1

    Table:
    Vålerenga 1 1 0 0 1- 0 3
    Djurgården 1 0 1 0 4- 4 1
    Rosenborg 1 0 1 0 4- 4 1
    Esbjerg 1 0 0 1 0- 1 0

    Group B
    Brøndby-Tromsø 3-2 :(
    IFK Göteborg-FC København 0-1

    Table:
    Brøndby 1 1 0 0 3- 2 3
    FC København 1 1 0 0 1- 0 3
    Tromsø 1 0 0 1 2- 3 0
    IFK Göteborg 1 0 0 1 0- 1 0

    Group C
    Malmö FF-Odense 2-0
    Brann-Halmstad 1-0

    Table:
    Malmö FF 1 1 0 0 2- 0 3
    Brann 1 1 0 0 1- 0 3
    Halmstad 1 0 0 1 0- 1 0
    Odense 1 0 0 1 0- 2 0

Some of these matches have been very entertaining and fun to watch. I think this is a great initiative, and I hope it will gain higher status eventually. It was kinda disappointing that the big crowds have been absent, though.

I'm certainly looking forward to the continuation :)

Is this a new competition? No Finland or Iceland?

    How do teams qualify?

Unfortunately I watched IFK Göteborg-FC Köpenhamn yesterday. What a dull game. Fortunately Sweden was playing Russia in Karjala Cup on another channel. :)

The league has some potential to it, it might not be a success the first year but let it mature for a while, it'll gain some popularity and the crowds will come to see the games! :) I'll see any games I can on TV.

    Yep, first season this.

    ROYAL League ;)

The 4 first teams in the top divisions of Norway, Denmark and Sweden qualify.

So the top 4 teams of Holland, Belgium, the UK and Spain can also participate :D?

The Nordic teams as well, no? I guess Rosenborg is the only Scandinavian team that regularly makes it to the CL, but there are not too many (worthy) Dutch or Belgium teams either.
Ajax for instance is lately more on the level (with all due respect) of Djurgardens (beaten by my beloved Utreg in the UEFA cup :hammer: :D ) and Brondby than on the level of Juventus and Real Madrid.

In theory, yes. Not too many manage to get past even the qualifier though.

True. Very true. But they are still there.

I hate Djurgården. Happy when they loose. Too bad they managed a 4-4 draw vs. Rosenborg. Disappointing.

I'm curious to see how this competition goes and if it will improve nordic football.

Well, a "Nordic league" that includes Iceland and Finland would be better...

I really hope it will bring more interest to it. Finland and Iceland could be in, but the thing is that the best Norwegian, Swedish and Danish teams are much better than the others.. I know thats not really an arguement, but in any way, this is the first year and it would probably be smart to keep the teams few.

    Last rounds before christmas vacation:

    02.12: Esbjerg-Rosenborg 18.00

    Group B

    02.12: Brøndby-IFK Göteborg 20.00

    05.12: FC København-Brøndby 17.00

    :bump:

Just watched the first half of Rosenborg-Malmö. Talk about difference in class... The Norwegians are running around pretty much as they please in the Malmö "defense". :p

Funny thing they didn't score more than two goals!
