RPG / Stinger soldier ?

Is anyone aware if there is something like a RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) or Stinger unit available and/or under construction somewhere ?
I was looking around but couldn't find it. The american bazooka dude from PTW comes close, but this one should be able to fire in the air, bringing down helicopters and/or planes.

Not that I'm aware of. I do think that this has been requested before, it wasn't all that useful before conquests came with the AA ability. I also would like to see this made. Perhapes the Avenger AA system also?

Well the RPG isn't exactly an air defence unit, but I would like to see it to complement the bazookas and panzerschreks

No such unit has been made or anything like that. I generally know whether a unit has been made or not, and althrough as I said before this has been requested several time before, it never came into exsitcne, nor has anyone vollenterred to make this.

BTW Krayzeenbk is right the RPG is not an AA weapon it is used as a anti tank weapon, it was in Afganistian that the rebels used them as an AA agaisnt Soviet Aircraft for the first time.

Also the first Black Hawk in Somalia was shot down by an RPG, but I heard that was after around 1000 misses (jeez, how did they have access to so many RPGs).

So I've heard. The reason they have so many missles is that Russia (and the former Soviet Union, and probly the black market) sells them like crazy because they have a bad econamy

I know, I was just expressing my bewilderment at the circumstances of that incident... I wonder where all those RPGs ultimately exploded..... And they fired them for hours, that is kind of an absurd situation. Soviet RPG clones are also manufactured almost everywhere, so this would be your typical third world nation unit as well.

hmm, if the RPG is not effective enough, maybe we can get a Stinger dude then ? Or both ? But I think we agree something of the kind would be needed, no ?

An RPG unit is needed.. really bad. You could always use the AA units which came with the WWII units, but you miss out on the.. RPG guy running around like in BLACK HAWK DOWN look. I'd also like to see a German Gewehrgranate (Mauser with a grenade) unit.. I just love that gun in MOHAA.

Heh.. another thing related to the AA units. They should have included a PIAT (British AA) unit. Just use the British Infantry with a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher..

I'd like to see RPG accompanying the bazooka and TOW units, but I'd rather see Stinger mounted on a vehicle (eg. Linebacker) than as a shoulder fired version. And the problem with RPG would be the same as with TOW, Bazooka and Panzerschrek; since the game doesn't make a difference between soft and hard targets, it's almost impossible to find suitable and balanced combat values for such units.

Perhaps because the Role-Playing Game is not Role-Playing at all, but Rocket-Propelled instead? And perhaps because it's actually a Grenade and not a Game?

The RPG is certainly effective enough against the targets it was designed for, I was pointing out that it's not an AA weapon.

Yep...this unit is definatly needed. Rocket Propelled Grenades have been one of the most prolific weapons on the battlefield over the last 45 or so years. They are relativley cheap, easy to
use, and deadly. I'm suprised that some of the more skilled unit
makers havn't made it long ago. I know several creators are working on Vietnam Scenarios...'Nam without RPGs? Never happen, GI!
