OK, so what will the rules and regulations of our road network be? Use this thread to discuss.

Also, some km/h to mph conversions:

150 km/h ~ 93 mph
140 km/h ~ 87 mph
130 km/h ~ 81 mph
120 km/h ~ 75 mph
110 km/h ~ 68 mph
100 km/h ~ 62 mph
90 km/h ~ 56 mph
80 km/h ~ 50 mph
70 km/h ~ 43 mph
60 km/h ~ 37 mph
50 km/h ~ 31 mph
40 km/h ~ 25 mph
30 km/h ~ 19 mph
20 km/h ~ 12 mph
10 km/h ~ 6 mph

I propose that we use the international standard of road signs, so that we use images and don't confuse the people who can't read English.

First , we need our dear GMs to make the roads on the country map, since we, the players, are not allowed to do so. Only when I see how the roads are laid, I can make my opinion on this.

Well, you can still make tons of comments on it, such as the age when you get your license, speed limits (don't need a map for that) and similar issues.

I think 16 years limit to initiate driver-training and license at 18.
120 KMH for the western superhighway North-South and 100 on Autostradas between major cities, 80 in rural populated areas, 60 in city roads and 30 in residential areas.

I think a two year gap is a bit much, provided you learn enough to pass a more rigorous driving test.

Also, those speeds are a bit low. 120 for the North/South motorway makes sense, but 100 for other motorways doesn't make as much sense, except for areas with heavier traffic. Also, with some rural roads, 80 is definitely low, and 100 would work, provided the road is sufficiently straight. Then, I'd say that 40 is probably a better residential speed limit, as that's how it is where I live, and it works.

I think 30 or 40 for residential areas, due to forested areas with limited sight.
Terrain is also a variable, the road Al Hakimah-Astoria, as well as the Isthmus City-Karmel distance are rough terrains. 100 for sure on more flat lands, I can agree to that. Topography plays a part here. Maybe 17 for starting training and 18 for getting the license.

I would suggest 15 for training (w/ a driver's permit) and 16 for a license.

Whats our drinking age?

Hasn't been decided yet. However, I'd recommend people learn to drive before they can purchase alcohol. (We shouldn't have an age limit for consumption, just a law saying that parental permission is needed to drink under drinking age. I'd recommend 18.)

I would say 18 for beer and 20 for liqour, so they can build up resistance gradually.

I don't see how we can have age limits past the age of 18, when people are legally adults. If you want to have a gradual resistance plan, make the beer purchase age 17, and the other liquor purchase age 18.

Also, since parental permission would allow for under-18s to drink, resistance building can be left to the parents.

But anyway, I'll make a different thread for these issues.

15 and a half for learner's permit/driver training (can drive with driver over 18 with license) and 16 and a half for full driver's license, with some restrictions for half a year after receiving full driver's license. (Limit to 1 person under 17 with you, no driving after 12 am except to or from a school event).

Also, speed limits:

Residental Area - 40 km/h
Non-Residental Road - 70 km/h
Super-Highway (Rural) - 130 km/h
Highway (Urban) - 100 km/h
Major Roads (Residential) - 55 km/h

Mostly agree with you here. The license stuff is good, though maybe allow driving between midnight and 4 am if there is a work related reason. (Whether we ban minors from working past midnight is a different bill.) Also, a Driver's Ed course could probably shorten the time limit for getting a license, to maybe just 16? In my state, Driver's Ed lets you get a license 4 months after your permit.

I think the non-residential limit could be a bit faster, as roads which are really straight and have high visibility can allow for slightly faster driving... maybe 80? Of course, roads in worse conditions can be slower. Otherwise, I'd agree.

I think the requirement of Driver's Ed is something that can be decided in the provinces. I also think 4 months after your permit is too quick. You really need 6 months, or 100 hours, to get good at driving. And I agree with the work.

I can agree to that, I didn't want to put it too fast, but 80 probably won't be a problem.

Probably. I'm mostly interested in social issues at the moment: it's somewhere where most of the parliament can agree, seeing that most of the parliament has a negative social libertarian/authoritarian score on the political compass.

I like the graduated system. 16 - G1 (can drive between 6am and 12am with a person who has had their full G for 5 years in the passenger seat, and not on highways)

16.75 (8 months after G1) - G2 - can drive alone, and on highways.

18.75-23.75 - G - must drive for 2 years without an accident or ticket. 2 years may be seperated. No requirements. Limit of 5 years to get.

Also, 65 on main streets, 55 on side streets, and 100-110 (means people actually go 115-125) on highways.

How about 16 years for Light motor vehicles (such as mopeds), 17 for medium vehicles (such as small to regular automobiles) and 18 for everything over?

I would change that to 15 for mopeds, 16 for ordinary cars, and 18 for trucks, buses, etc.
