Rules of the Road: A Discussion Thread

I have a rule I would like to have in place.

If you run over an animal that runs over the road, and you crash it, you are free to keep the meat. Many countries practice this.

If you run over a animal you have a chance to also get a bill.
Now since poor people could kill it by meaning and keep the meat...

If the animal is very hurt but still alive you have rights to take its life.

If the animal dies, then keeping the meat is fine. You should still be required to notify the police, so that they can modify the length of hunting season.

Also, The age to drive a regular car should be 16, as that allows enough time for kids to get used to driving before they can drink. After all, wouldn't drunk driving be worse if the driver had less experience?

14 for a moped is what they have in Italy.

18 should be highest limit for ANYTHING, unless we are doing the graduated licence.

No. That can be a municipal by-law. Not a national law. also, can you name countries that do this? I cant find evidence anywhere.

Good lord, keeping the meat? That's fine, but why in the World would you want the meat?

Well, I think it is a fair proposal, to keep the meat if you crash an animal. There is of course no obligation to eat it of course.

But then I could accidently drive through a farm...

It should belong to the owner of the animal. Generally there are ways to check.

So basically the meat is isn't yours if it is a farmers cow, or a persons cat you happened to hit, but it is when you squash a hedgehog it is fine to eat. :crazyeye:

So 14 is the moped age they have in italy? Well, I can't bring up actual evidence right now, but I do know that Italy is a country with reckless drivers and the like. Maybe that's one of the reasons?

16 for driving a car is simply ridiculous. The harm reckless kids can do with such a transportation vehicle is very big, even without alcohol. Besides, they aren't allowed to, but what if they can get access to alcohol anyway? 16 olds + cars +alcohol is a very bad combination.

What we can do, however, is that you're allowed to take driving lessons at that age. But you aren't allowed to actually drive in a car at that age. But that makes very little sense.

Yeah, something along these lines. Korean immigrants may choose to keep the dog or cat if they feel like it, if there is no identification tag on the animal.
Actually, I tried a steak in Texas once called "Roadkill", which was made of run-over animals from car accidents. I think there is a beef jerky with the same name.

Well, it's worse than letting them drive at the same time they can drink...

16 is a good age for them to at least be able to learn. (And BTW, I'm in that population of 16 year olds learning to drive...)

8 lane superhighways? Damn, that's big. I'd think 6 lanes is all that's needed for everything except for urban areas.

I suppose it would be easier to just vote on national speed limits, though it may make more sense to just worry about national roads and routes and leave the rest to the discretion of the provinces and localities.

That's a good point.

I'd suggest 120 or 130 for motorways, and anywhere from 80-100 for the national roads, depending on the density of population and businesses.

I'm still not connected. Come on.

Al Hakimah and Garit are so close, they are grown into each other, but consider it 8 lane. It is still not a part of the national main road network, which is more long distance.

8 lane is a lot and I don't think our fresh new nation is able to pay that.

6 lane for highways (why call it superhighway if we don't have normal highways?) and 4 lane for national roads is more than enough.

If you want to have certain parts of the road 8 lane, you can indicate that with another colour, or a very thick red line rather than the thin red line. A good example would be around Isthmus City.

edit: I take it that there's a ferry boat between Gavan Gluboko and North Shore?

Are someone to propose a bill on this. Let us produce laws.
