Running civ4 gold edition on Windows 10

Hi,
I'm looking for the patch to run civ4 Gold edition on my win10 pro
tried Civ4Patch1.61 but didn't work.

The old disk versions have problem with Win 10 due to unsupported DRM. GOLD edition is Vanilla + Warlords expansion. BTS expansion gets around this problem as patch 3.19 removed the need for the disk.

As far as I know there is no solution to this problem, although googling the issue may turn up some workaround. My advice is to get a direct download of Civ IV Complete edition on sale from Steam or GOG. Usually goes on sale for around 6 or 7 bucks.

I ended up installing Windows xp in a virtual machine and it's working well.
