Running COL from hard drive without CD

Many years ago someone from Microprose told me the way to copy the CD to the hard drive, and then get the program to run without the CD being around.
Does anyone remember how it is done?

I always played it without CD. In fact, I didn't even have a CD-ROM.

You might try a mount/emulator progam.

You can download the whole game off of either abandonia or bestoldgames.net, although it may be lacking some features that the cd had.

Abandonia no longer offers it- however, they have a link to where you can buy it.

Luckily, I already have downloaded it. Great game.
