So what's been people's thought/decision process on assigning rural vs urban tiles? I'm also curious how many out there have been reassigning rural tiles as urban. You're not really 'losing' the population point in making the change but the reassignment is permanent and output of the tile is changed. It's taking me a bit to adjust to the fact I cannot open my city and reassign worked tiles as i see fit. Seems like this concept coupled with the two civ changes requires more long term planning from the get go.

Compared to assigning pop it requires more planning but since it seems you don’t lose anything if you build over it it’s much more flexible than when workers were required

Still getting used to adjacencies and how impactful they are so not totally sure how I like everything…

It seems like all else equal you want to have more quarters connected to the capital, so may need to reassign those over time, which I guess is similar to how things actually develop.

I wish that the city building screen showed how much food I need to grow, so I know if it is okay to build over that prime farm location. Something like in previous games. The only way I can see this is by exiting out to the main map and looking at the city banner. Anyone know of a way to see this on the city screen? It only shows the total food yields, which means nothing if I don't know how many citizens there are or how much food I need to grow.

and I just read the two entries in the 'pedia regarding quarters. seems like specialists in well placed quarters will lead to some crazy yields. i'm just about to complete the unique district for Majapahit which is a rebuild over an existing urban tile; the genesis for my post in the first place as building over an urban tile didn't seem the most efficient but the location is bonkers for the happiness the new district will yield.

i'm having fun figuring out this new approach. Feels fresh but have to ditch some old conventions.

When you open a city, click the notepad looking icon to the left of the resource yields. It should open a second window on the right (city detail). Citizen growth is the default info.

I swear I have clicked that multiple times with no effect! I’ll give it a go.
