I've chosen some items that we may wish to rush buy.

As MOI, I've taken it upon myself to at least observe the ability to rush-buy some caravans. I think prudently spent, getting these on board will help.

Several cities and benefit now. Here are the costs:

Sixchan - Caravan = 13 gold
Athenae - Caravan = 50 gold
Hippoville - Caravan = 47 gold
Dreadtown - Caravan = 38 gold

Additionally, Potopolia is building a crusader. It already supports FIVE units. If we can change this to a caravan (no penalty) then the rush cost would be 36 gold.

That's 184 gold to produce 5 caravans. Combined with a caravan that's on a ship nearby, we could have 300 shields ready for 184 gold.

As MOI, I thing that this is a good buy and would propose to put this into action when the next turns start up. If there are objections, please feel free to express them.

I agree with all you wrote. Change the crusader to caravan and rush them all. :)

This makes sense as always. :goodjob:

Where are these 5 units then? I presume we have one trireme, 2 defenders in the city, and 2 crusaders. Are they exploring the Viroconium continent? I thought that the plan was to rehome some of the victorious crusaders in that city once we had taken it to ease the burden on other cities.
That sounds like a bargain for so many shields!

You are EXACTY correct, Duke. The 2 crusaders are now outside of Viroconium - which will cause some happiness issues combined with the trireme out there as well. Best to home a few of these elsewhere - and we can do that with a few new cities as well. I guess governors or military advisors would be involved here.
