Pretty heated exchange

"Blinken warns China against aiding Russia in Ukraine"

"China may be on brink of supplying lethal aid to Russia"

Wang Yi: "We will never accept US instructions and even threats to put pressure on Russian-Chinese relations"

"China blasts US reaction to balloon as hysterical and absurd"

Seconding Perun’s videos, particularly for what I think is his talent at breaking down information and presenting it to be understood by a wide audience.

I feel like lukashenko’s peace overtures are more genuine than China’s at this point. Sure he is undoubtedly pro-Russian, but I don’t think he is thrilled by the way this is going. China loves making bank on it.

China should be playing their cards more carefully here if they want the advantage and element of surprise when it comes time for them to attack Taiwan. Looks like they’ve already blown it though, or are at least on that path.

Taiwan should be returned peacefully - in exchange for autonomy, "free economic zone", and whatever appropriate degree of self-governance they need.
It's still a matter of decades though. Not until US influence diminishes enough.

Yeah, that didn't work so well for Hong Kong.

That's the point.

Like China promised Hong Kong?

That's not what the PRC has planned for the bandits that occupy Formosa.

The Taiwanese people's right for self-determination has quite a bit of support here, as I can see.

Moderator Action: Back to Russia/Ukraine please. Please start a new thread for China/Taiwan if you wish to discuss this issue.

Exactly this happened to Hong Kong...and they've been stripped off their rights ever since.

I love Perun videos and his reasoning and this one is particularly good.

Russia's Grand Strategy and Ukraine

An hour well spent!

Russia's Grand Strategy and Ukraine

He is good, but he (like others) is too serious when talking about this war. He completely misses the fact, how Ukraine didn't prepare for it at all (to the point that when Kharkiv was atacked with like dozens of Russian soldiers (!!!) - Ukrainian defenders of the city searched for a single BMP for a day. And such stories appeared everywhere). And that most Russians, seemingly, didn't expect any war at all, so ANY real fighthing was a complete surprise to them and they just fall apart and retreat. So what army is that?

Even now, in a year, in some aspects it's not a "real" war. Russia is sending thousands convicts and random mobilized men to die at a single point of a frontline, Ukraine responds, and on background across the country some rockets and artillery fires are exchanged. I'm not saying it's "not enough" to call a war "real", but it's not enough for such kind of serious analysis. Putin's mood is more responsible to what happened and what will happen, than 60% of factors Perun listed.

So real things here are people dying and cities burn. And war arround it is more a chaos, than a real fight. Simulacrum if you wish. And should be analyzed probably with some postmodernism techique...
