Warlord
Hi all,
I played with russia, saves and pics attached. Here are my comments:
the game: I founded 4 cities with the starting settlers and spread them out nicely taking advantage of the unique power, they grew rather quickly and they become rather productive quite fast, to the point that I realized no one was going to invade me since I could build a really powerful army. While spreading east I periodically declared war on germany and the ottomans to have them enter my territory and kill their units so that I could earn roleplay victory points, the cossacks were particularly good at it given their bonus. In general I really enjoyed this game, there was always stuff to do and with the abundance of resources like coal, iron and horse raising a mighty army was rather easy. I could not reach the pacific ocean unfortunately due to mongolia rebelling and respawning.
unique units, unique power and buildings: the krepost and cossacks are both very fit for the roleplay victory, excellent choices, same for the extra land given at city foundation.
roleplay victory: I dind't need the space victory points, plus I could build wonders and recruit great people to boost my score. Most of the points came from controlling land tiles and killing units within my borders.
there was a bug with the puppet cities not producing, but all in all one of my favorite games. One minor complaint is the expansion stability which declines fast as I add more and more cities, I would expect Russia to be able to settle a large amount of cities without much penalty.
