Being the civilization I like to use, I have found working out where the borders of ones culture is difficult on a rather full map.

The colouring blends too much with the roads... Question, is there anyway to make Russia a different colour than brown??

In the Editor, you can change Russia's color in the Civ3mod- file.

As Wizard said... In th editor you can change the color of a civilization. It should be under the General preference's(or is it General Setting's?) section.

No, its under the Civilizations section :p

heh... Good point... well... atleast I tried :p

I actually liked Russia as it was in Civ II: white.

I dunno why, maybe I just got used to it... But it still was cooler than the brown color in Civ III.

Also, who use's white in Civ3 now? No Civ? (Haven't played Civ3 in age's... never paid much attention to the civ colors to begin with)

There's a drink called "White Russian". I happen to like it.

Ok, well... that is kind of trivial to a 15 year old who could care less about drinks... much less russian drinks (I'm guessing it's a alocholic drink to)

A White Russian is made from Kahlua (a coffee flavored liqueur), Vodka (hence the Russian), Light Cream or Milk (hence the White), over ice. One of my absolute favorite drinks.

BTW, back on topic, it's the barbarians that are white now.

I liked the Barbarians better when they were a bloody red. But I also think the Romans go better in red, so I can't bring myself too be totally against the change either.

warpstorm: I congratulate you on your excellent taste!

Austria uses white in Napoleanic but like someone else said barbarians are usually white. (there were no barbarians in the Napoleanic Scenario which left the white color vacant)

In the old fashioned world of board war gaming the traditional color for Russia is brown. The particular color of the Russian army uniform. It's a good choice if you aren't used to Civ II's white.

Honestly, all armies should be green or brown, at least in the modern age...

I think brown is a good color - I never had any problems in the one game I played with them. I had a much larger problem with the Greeks on grassland or the Germans at sea. Try a different terrain - the default is a bit washed out, IMHO.

I don't see why barbarians have to be any particular color at all. It would be a lot more logical if they had unique, or at least unique-looking, units.

someone has a nice mod of cultural boundaries over in the Customization forum. The borders are a solid line, and another with curvy solid line, make the borders a little better to see. I may swing over there and see if I can fine the links, or if soemone has them offhand....

Here is the curved borders
