Russian Revolution: Preventable?

Communism, on paper, is a grand ideal. It's a solution for all the world's problems.

Unfortunately, the weakness of man has crushed every attempt to create a successful, honest to goodness for the people communist state. Mankind is too flawed for it to succeed, whether the movement be led by a visionary or a madman.

So...back on topic eh?

How different would the revolution have been if the Russo-Japanese war had never happened?

I cant talk about that without crying for my Motherland :(

Though, Id believe that had it never happened the people may have still had some morale left before the Great War. Japan pretty much sunk Tsarist hopes as it did the Baltic Fleet.

That's amazing, considering I'm Asian.
So Am I ;)

Isnt the Russo-Japanese War durin WW2?

Pre-World War I

I believe it is what led to the Revolution of 1905... The Revolution didn't do much good since Nicholas was such an ignorant ruler. To bad he didn't head off to the Front lines to take command himself, perhaps he would have caught a Japanese Round in the eye.

No.... It was in 1905. I believe you mixed up Russian promise to declare war on Japan after the European part of WW2 was finished.
Oh, so Sorry about the confusion, but thank god USSR invaded Korea and liberated bout 4 of my family members livin in Korea (Now there is bout 25 relatives that I know of livin in Korea =] )

Here, I corrected your statement, and bolded said corrections.

So morale most likely, which affected WWI.

Would you see WWI as the main cause of the revolutions, or do you think that had the war not happened the revolution would have happened anyways, if not in 1917 then at some later date, perhaps in another form?

The war at least was a kind of katalysator at least. I mean it made the developement faster. However I think a revolution would have taken place anyways- if Nicholas made no reforms. That he did so is not very likely. So having this in mind a revolution was programmed. But perhaps later and under other circumstances. If there was no war another second revolution might not have taken place.

You sicken me...

I recall a story that went something like this:

"A man has been working on a Centralized Farming Plantation (or whatever their called) he has supported it and worked as hard as he can. Stalin's goverment honored the man and gave him a cermony and some awards. The Man, a peasant from a very poor family asked "Could I just have some bread some bread so I may feed my family?" The Man and his Family were shipped off to Siberia not to long after.

Stalin was a monster, he killed good communists who were no threat and only wanted to help the Union. He shipped them to the Gulags or had them slaughtered. My Great Grandfather was killed by Stalin, and he had actually served in the Red Army fighting the Whites.

Damn Stalin. Hell is to good for that beast.

Thank you! Maybe if he lived there he would understand, instead of getting all his info on communism from Akon. Democratic Socialist here, yes we're different, but we have similarities, like that one time...
anyway, yeah, power too you, if only people could understant that Stalinism isn't communism. aagak! Proudly sacrificing lives, for industrilization? hows that work? People are supposed to live better. Stalin killed them!!!

As for the revolution, eh, I'd say its been well covered- reforms!!!
I wonder though, how different the world would be without it: WWII, Space, steroids in olympics etc.

And finally, in regards to WWI, it wasn't about conquest, as it was in WWII, so Germany just needed to defeat France to win, but of course, thats victory on paper, Germany would keep marching, because, hey, if you can get more land... you take it, and thus, more war.

Alpha Killer II, remember, death is a bad thing to most people, and conspiring can be a good thing, revolutions are necessary, and in the case of Stalin, something needed to happen, I'd view those that rose against him as true patriots. Remember this: VIVA LA REVOLUCION!
