Russian Unit Pack 6: Imperial Infantry (1690-1840) (27 Jan, 2007)

I have a truckload of pictures for 19th century Austrian infantry units!

OMG these units are great  I agree with the color discussion, darker would be better. Badly needed units :goodjob: Another suggestion : the 2 attacks should be chained, I mean flow, you see ? Not Attack A, Stop, Attack B but: Attack A, go from one position to the other, Attack B. Would look better IMO... I also can see a part of the rifle poking through his hand on the big pic... good unit anyway, that's just positive criticism for the coming units. In fact I wish I could do half what you've done :(

Lovely units! :goodjob:
I wonder:
the AttackA and AttackB flics of the Generic 1812 Guard Grenadier seem to be identical, both shooting. Isn't the AttackB supposed to be bayonetting like the other Grenadiers and Musketeers?

Thank you, that was quick! :)
Looks really good in action. :goodjob:

To all: the SwissMercenaryAttack.amb works fine as sound for the bayonette attacks.

Here's a zip file with the Austrian pics I mentioned:

Lookee here!

And here's a Russian (sic!) website with tons of pictures of uniforms from earlier periods (1710 - 1816).

:king: it's very good to have more infantry units in this high quality!

btw: i need some help with my translation (russian, but latin letters)
- musketman (perhaps: "streliz")
- line infantry
- rifleman
- marine

Streltsy are basic troopers, armed with a musket in the 16th C, and a rifle in the 18th C.

I think that "Naval Infantry" as they're known in Russian are "Morskaja Pekhota" if my transliteration is correct.

Actually, i'll leave this up to people who actually know Russian

Hi Sandris,

I just noticed your notation, "Russian Musketeer (1730-1790). Defensive unit. Actually were not equipped with muskets, but were called musketeers in Russian Imperial army." Any clue what they were armed with?

Thanks,

Oz

Good, but:mischief: ... You need to create more units for more nations during this time period like Prussia,France,Britain,USA,Saxony,Spain,Austria,Ottoman Empire,Poland,Portugal,Netherlands,Sweden,etc... Can you do it? or at least try and do it?:D

Hey Sandris I noticed a little quirk with the palettes on these. You have some of the non-civ colors in the first two rows of the palette. Those rows are for civ color.
Take the Generic 1812 Musketeer. Some of the black in his boots and hat show up as civ color in-game (greyish shades of civ-color, but civ color noneless. Try it with a very light civ color, like white or pink)
Didn't know if you caught it or not. Saw you made some new ones and Thought I'd let you know before you go creating dozens more musketmen.
